I would guess the confetti has different instructions for men and women or maybe different directions for the people on the left or right side of the room. 'Think of a memory that involves the word bait' for men and 'think of a memory that involves the word mouse' for women. For Oti, he has instructions that might say something like 'Think of Oti Mabuse wearing a blue scarf' then does slight of hand to change the instructions for what the audience sees. He can call on any pair of men and women from the audience and be relatively confident he'll get the same answer every time. No idea if that's right, but it's what I'd try. No matter how he did it, it's a phenomenonal act!
