That was totally the knock on Peyton... His playoff record was not good initially. In his first 5 years in the league he had 0 playoff wins, and was in the playoffs 3 times. His record was 3-8 in his first 6 years. John Elway didn't win a Super Bowl till his 15th season... There's a long list of all time great players that struggled in the post season before breaking out. In baseball A-Rod, Barry Bonds, and now Aaron Judge come to mind. I don't think any of these guys have received the amount of criticism like Lamar has concerning their playoff performances. Anytime you watch sports media now with the exception of Colin here. All they do is attack Lamar's postseason record. It's incredibly unfair and dismissive of what he's doing. If it was anybody else they would have something quite different to say. In my opinion, Lamar has proven all the naysayers wrong.

@ I’m going to push back on this. This notion that Lamar gets more criticism than other QBs is just wrong. He has a unanimous mvp and was 1 vote away from another unanimous mvp. So the same media members that people say is critical of Lamar is also giving him MVPs and will give him another one this year. When black analyst critic Lamar people will call them coons and uncle toms. It’s turned into if you criticize Lamar you get called a racis and you “moving the goalpost”. When the truth is Lamar is great but he isn’t as good in the post season. Comparing him to MJ is disrespectful because mj was cooking the Celctis and pistons even in the loses. Lamar just comes up short

I was blessed earlier in life to watch Michael Jordan go from a good college player to the best NBA player ever. Watching Lamar since his first game at Louisville has been a similar experience, I hope for Lamar’s sake this is their year. The year the Ravens get by their Pistons ( Chiefs) The year Lamar holds up that Lambardi and etches his name in history.

It's just so awesome watching Lamar dominate and one by one convert every last doubter. This man has gone from the extreme narrative that he needs to switch positions to even play in the NFL to the complete opposite extreme that he's literally one of the best qb's of all time! I mean who else has done that? U could maybe mention Brady since he was picked so late but even then, he didn't face the same almost universal narrative that Lamar was up against. The best part is that Lamar has always stayed extremely humble and still works harder and is more desperate to improve than anyone around him. We are blessed as Ravens fans to experience the Lamar Era! I really hope he gets the Super Bowl that he promised on Draft Night. He's deserving of it, I just pray our Defense doesn't let him down.

For some perspective (and this is supported by Steve Young's comments as well): Lamar was not just going up against NFL competition, he was going up against DECADES of lousy offensive play from the Ravens. From Newsome's "We're not going to invest heavily in certain skill position players" philosophy) to lousy drafts (Yamon Figurs, David Reed, etc., etc. etc) to lousy OCs (Cam Cameron trying to implement "Air Baltimore" without a SINGLE fast wide out to be found, and it was only AFTER he got fired that the Ravens were able to correct their course and win that 2nd Lombardi.) Lamar has single-handedly reversed decades of offensive ineptitude. And drafting Zay went a long way in terms of establishing some serious offensive weaponry. And now that Batman is healthy, and Nelson provides a VIABLE veteran presence, AND the running game is on track, for once everything is working. (On the offensive side of the ball. The Ravens always have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time; so now the defense is crap. Oh well. Thanks Lamar. You're keeping us in the game man.)

Lamar is definitely on his way to MVP 3, but Burrow is still an animal, too. It's a travesty that, other than Todd Monkan, he has to play against the opposing teams defense, the ineptitude of his DC & HC! There's no way that last years top ranked defense should've been trusted in the hands of a rookie DC. Harbaugh is going to be the reason the LJ keeps falling short. Terrible game management skills, approving game plans in the biggest games that go against what they do to get there. Elevated Zack Orr to a position he wasn't ready for because he failed to offer Dennard Wilson or Anthony Weaver the DC job. One of them should've been elevated as soon as Mike McDonald started taking interviews for HC openings. Zack Orr was just what was left because none of the coaches who left took him with them.
