Glue channel extra trick: As you lay the top piece down, touch it to the glue channel side first. This will squeeze the glue to the back, away from the channel, so only a small amount gets into the channel making it even more effective.

Genius work Colin. Here is another use for Great tape: I bought a dozen hockey pucks and made bench cookies using it. Thanks for reminding me it can be used for push blocks too!

Thanks so much for your expertise and informative videos. The carpet tape is a great hack. I use it to hold down my work when trim/ plunge routing. Works like a dream and no clamps to get in the way.

Thanks Uncle Colin (I've adopted you) ... I've used a similar rug tape to secure my sharpening plate holder (for diamond plates) to my workbench when sharpening, but I also use an anti-slip shower mesh when working unclamped. When it gets clogged with chips and dust, I take it out in the garden, close my eyes, hold my breath, and give it a brief earthquake. $0.02

I'm not sure where to put my idea?. I'm installing pull out drawers in our kitchen cabinets. Needed something on each side of drawer to attach slides to. Way to far away from ends on one side, "L" corner on other side. Needed something secure on both sides. I used some 1" oak cut wide enough for full extension drawer slide to be able to attach to drawers. Here is the deal, I used the dowel max to guide a kreg bit far enough onto the oak to connect oak to existing shelf with Kreg screws, several on each side. Oak board needed to be wider on lower shelf to clear the opening, just had to drill deeper. Still used shorter screws.

I use 220 or higher sandpaper glued to anything I don't wasn't to slide ... Esp rulers! Doesn't harm finish because it won't slide.

5:55 The sacrificial fence moves quite a bit when you were pressing the measuring block against it. Does clamping the ends of the fence cause the middle to bow out, especially as MDF is a flexible material when compared to plywood or solid hardwood?

Both a bow and potentially a twist with the clamping force being high/low on each end.

I wonder if you could take something with some weigh to it such as a small piece of steel plate, put the anti-skid tape on it, and use it on your table saw like a mag switch. In other words give it enough weight so you could set it where you want it and it would stay in place as you bump the table saw fence up against it. I'm thinking a pound or two pounds maybe. Obviously it wouldn't stay as well as the mag switch but would it stay in place well enough?

You could use 2 of those fence stops to cut dados edges. Better still, many fence rails have T-track. Just chuck a couple of simple stops in.

Your fence used to trim plywood edge banding is obviously reversible. Why not add a 1 in. by 1 in. runner (rail) parallel to the bottom but raised 1/4 in. When you need to trim edge banding, turn the rail to the blade side of the fence. When just using as a sacrificial fence place the rail out of the way on the back side of the fence. This rail will also help stiffen the fence and prevent potential bowing. When it is being used as a sacrificial fence, use one of your bought sacrificial-fence clamps in the middle of the fence to eliminate possible bowing. When trimming banding the height of the blade, not the 1/4 in. gap, determines the thickness of the cut.

I wonder if the tape (type of tape) you use can be bought here in Europe (CZ namely). Because I only know either plain cloth one (not textured like yours) or the "anti slippery" one with texture like sandpaper.

The biggest problem with that sacrificial fence is if you tighten it too much, it bows in the center towards the blade. This cause lots of issues, not the least of which is kickback potential. Those Rockler fence clamps are a much better solution unless you add a bridge across the top of the sacrificial fence. Using those clamps, you can still raise the fence in the same fashion, but it secures the sacrificial fence to the saw much better, and doesn't introduce a bow in the fence.
