Do you really like the Bladerunner by Rockwell? I kinda thought it was a gimmicky kinda tool, especially if you already own a scrollsaw and/or a bandsaw.

As the others said.. There is nothing new in woodworking but the tools. Chances are great that anything you figure out on your own has already been figured out decades or more before by someone else. Someone even found pocket holes using dowels in antique furniture. I must say, though, the L fence is a great tool for duplicating parts, and of course, much more.

Mr. Nubs, I've been building some shelves to go into a closet alcove , and as luck would have it, none of the angles were a perfect 90°, and the one that looked like 45° wasn't. I had very nearly resigned myself to an afternoon of tedious mind-numbing tracksaw cutting, when I chanced across your video. I built the jig, and using the template I already made, batched out the 4 wonky shelves in about 15 minutes. THANK YOU for this video, and your enormous body of work.

I finally got around to building one of these fences and quickly found it is a great way to cut the rebates for breadboard ends. I’ve used many methods that involve making elaborate setups to ensure the top and bottom rebates are perfectly matched. Using this jig makes the job so much easier, faster and very accurate. I simply double side tape a fence to the top side of my workpiece, cut the rebate and then set the fence perfectly along the cut edge on the bottom - and hey presto - perfectly aligned rebates top and bottom. I like the idea of the L-Fence and will be making one this very day. It puts me in mind of both flush trim bits and guide bushings, but with the advantage of the stand-off being infinitely adjustable so you can creep up on a good fit. But the reason I am commenting today is to say that the ISOtunes hearing protection actually make a lot of sense. I've taken to using my Bose QC35 headphones to listen to my audiobooks while working in the workshop, and they definitely get a bit messed up. I've had to replace the earpads already, and they are looking a bit jaded. That's not a great way to treat headphones that cost NZ$450! So I am going to invest in a set, but I have not decided which one yet. So thanks for the heads up James.

If you're going for earbud style protection I strongly encourage you to get the ones that are truly wireless rather than the ones that have a wire between the ears. My wire broke pretty quickly and while I still have hearing protection I now only have Bluetooth in one ear

This is by far my favorite jig to use. Especially when doing a miter edged casing on a cabinet. No need to worry about the edge splintering or having a lip and don’t have to take cumbersome panels over to the router table to use a chamfer bit. Instead, just place the stand off board on top of the workpiece right at the edge being cut, set the saw blade at 45° and pass it along the L fence. Crisp, burr free edges every time. Largest panel I’ve done a miter on using this method was just over 1800mm long! Gone are the days of using the tracksaw!

This is a genius little jig and I'm going to build one. That said, in my area most tablesaws are sliding panel saws and often shared between different individuals. The more jobs we do on the table saw the more everyone will be waiting in line to use it. For a contractor saw type setup or a one man shop (or weekends in my case) it's brilliant though.
