In his words, you cannot employ soldiers and expect them to act like policemen. Something we should have taken on board with recent cases against Soldiers who served in Northern Ireland. A true soldier in every way, steadfast in his duty, thoughful of his men and no messing about. R.I.P 'Mad Mitch'

For all the naysayers, Mitchell rejected the managed decline of Britain. The problem with the naysayers they don’t realise they live in a totally declined Britain, morally, institutionally, intellectually, militarily, financially, politically. Welcome to 1984.

Next you will be marching me into the Gulag😂. We are not at war buddy, we just see things differently. We obviously have different life experiences. Colonel Mitchell had just had THREE of his men murdered and their bodies mutilated publicly. These men were under his command. That is why he was angry. I wish my old Commanding Officers would have done the same. In one instance I know that would not have occured. He was a proper Officer of his men.

@peteb8556 Mad Mitch was a upper class Toff lording over working class men, parachuted into the top Job because of his privileged background. The Sutherland and Argylls were fighting lower ranked opposition who were poorly equipped, just a rag tag army. This British unit mentioned above were going round bullying unarmed civilians, what's brave about that ?
