I just want to say that I truly appreciate him in the way that he speaks truth, based on his Netflix show recently uploaded. From his stoop in Park Slope, Brooklyn to Google...CQ has come a long way...I love the man & his work ethic, the legendary insults on O&A, the thoughtful comedy he brings...but he ends up giving banal, barely coherent answers when ppl try to really delve into the subject matter...he can hardly finish a thought before something else in his chaotic mind runs it over..he is in his element on radio but the interviews are usually cringe worthy... I will forever be grateful to him for bringing us Tough Crowd...long live CQ ! :)

@lucasthompson16506 жыл бұрын
@Alwyn Sam I remember that! Everyone beats on Vos but it’s rare that someone hits him hard enough to leave him thstammering and thpeetchlethth - without marrying him first. (sorry Rich, it’s like a reflex for most people at this point!) It’s unreal how much the comedy world owes to a cancelled radio show most ‘fans’ claim to hate at least 1/3rd of, yet still can’t stop arguing about endlessly. Those sorta-fake, multipart documentaries that Porsalin has been doing on Jim, Sam, Anthony, et al. are fucking hilarious. I’m not sure I ever watched Colin on SNL until years later (coulda been a Norm grudge), I remember Colin as yet another one of the fantastically brilliant comedians that would always be on that fucking radio show (the first radio show I remember being pirated, at least a couple years before Stern ). Colin was so funny, even Jay Mohr(z) was funny, or at the very least much less hated, when he did his Colin voice! pest 4 life!

Stand-ups punch down in-part (if not, in-whole) BECAUSE it's inappropriate. We say things we don't mean all the time for a laugh, so if it's something that you happen to be "triggered" by, what about all the other inappropriate jokes you laughed at? Growing poise and not being known as a party killer is part of growing up.
@The_ScapeGoat3 жыл бұрын
"Punching down" is still punching up because it's pushing back on a taboo. It's always funny to say what people tell you is unacceptable because they are presuming that their feelings should dictate what people can and cannot say. This is where the controversy surrounding the word "nigger" comes from. You'd have to be a racist to think it's okay for some people to say it but not others.

Colin, I heard a joke from you, it was funny, only as long as the world was looking through that lens. Well... I could laugh empathetically, but not really. The joke was about how half the country swears there is a Muslim invasion and half swears there's a nazi invasion. Promoting a half and half idea like this is wrong. More than half of this country believes we are experiencing a communist infiltration, a minority of thi country believes that we are experiencing a nazi/kkk invasion. There is also another minority that believes in Muslim invasion. Nobody comes to question the trump voters about why we voted for him because a 50/50, half anti Muslim people/half anti nazi people, that is all we are allowed to see in media. I know a lot of people that hold our values close, anti-Muslim issues are the fickle, as are anti nazi issues. Who is for America? This is what we care about. You've seemed to have given up.
