He does, in a way. The specifics of a culture might change for instance, the secularization of Yankeedom meant that the Puritan religion doesn't have as much of explicit influence as it use to, but that sorta metaculture of the Puritans (i.e. hard work, the common good, belief in the community, social engineering) remains dominate in the northeast. If you haven't read American Nation I would highly recommend.

@@josephchellis4117 I find out crazy how Yankeedom is increasingly atheist these dates as compared to Appalachia and Deep South.
