They were the 2nd ranked rushing offense last year because Justin Fields was out there, Danny. This is exhausting. I know people think some of us are biased, but it's because Colin and Danny keep ignoring the obvious. Whatever Fields limitations, he was not only one of the best rushing QBs last year, but his rushing ability masked a bad Oline, made the run blocking look better, and was a threat to the defense. Sure after he spent 3 quarters wearing defenses down, you could then run the ball. It's not a mystery. The Bears have 4 of the 5 same Oline starters. Just stop.

You could also make an easy case though that teams could load up in the box bc no one was scared of Fields piecing them up from the pocket which is not the case now. Sure Caleb has missed some throws but if defenses want to continue to load the box vs the bears now.. they will soon regret it. So all that to say... The line needs to play better and the OC needs to be better as well. He has too many weapons to be using them the way he is trembling while holding his play sheet. Caleb is not the talent or smart humble liked leader daniels appears to be....they took the cocky small less smooth mobility wise guy because of 2022 pac 12 backyard football hype....daniels seems to know what defense it is and make reads from the pocket on the run and in 2 seconds and get it out quick which is the most important parts of being a qb....he looks like someone who played in the sec and actually is liked by teammates on the field and it shows unlike caleb who the bears media team kept saying about but appears to not be the case

Nah Caleb has clear character flaws. He’s not big he’s probably closer to 6’ he’s not the athlete people were saying he was. The comparison to mahomes is dying with every pass. Mahomes can RUN AWAY from nfl guys Caleb can’t even move in the pocket enough to creates space to pass. So for now it seems like it was ALL HYPE. The one thing that gives it benefit of the doubt is no qb who played for Lincoln Riley is awful if he has a good offensive coach. So we’ll see but right now he looks lost and overwhelmed 80% of the time
