Hey Collin! Massive fan. I worked 5 years managing a welding shop, running all sorts of CNC machines including a plasma cutter with an engraver similar to yours. You’ll want to make sure you have super clean and dry air running to your plasma cutter and the engraver, otherwise the machines will deteriorate over time and your consumables will burn out FAST like within seconds. I would run a splitter after your cleaner and run an air gun to test how much moisture there is after the cleaner, and to clear the line out if needed. Hope that helps!

Just a tip, the blade welder on your bandsaw is mostly meant for welding a blade back together after you've inserted it through a piece of material that you want to remain solid without having to cut into or out of with the blade. It also allows you to buy bulk blade material in rolls and weld your own together which is cheaper than buying fully manufactured blades. If your blade breaks, it's probably from fatigue or wear and is not usually worth welding back together. Awesome shop!

Since I myself am now planning a larger workshop. So far I have set up an electronics lab. I myself am Dr. Der Elektronik. Thanks for your videos. Good luck, with further projects

Hey Colin, a few tips for the laser cutter. First is when you cut wood, if you put masking tape over the top when the vaperised material falls back down it stains the tape not the wood. Does mean you then need to take a craft knife to the middle of small circles to remove the tape and some times the scorched effect looks good. Second tip is in the hackspace where I use one we once had the material catch light and the person using it had walked away to make a tea and it near destroyed the laser cutter so we made it a rule that you stay watching it while the laser is active so you can hit the kill switch and use a CO2 extinguisher on it before things get out of hand. If you check the London Hackspace wiki, you will see what happened to ours before. As a man who clearly loves his tools, I'll warn you it doesn't look pretty. I am interested to see what you can do with the new setup.
@aprophetofrng98212 жыл бұрын
I also had our laser cutter catch fire. I think it was transfer tape that caught fire after the piece that had it on dropped to the bottom area. I guess the laser shot through without anything in between and it lit up. Luckily I didn't walk away because it was a quick cut. But ya. Basically never walk away from a laser cutter.
@IndigoWhiskey2 жыл бұрын
presumably this is why the bevvy facilities are immediately to the right of the laser cutter. so even if you are making a cup of tea you are two feet at most from the machine, boss thinking really.

I wish I had a shop like that! YOu're gonna make some good stuff there. I suggest you set up the steel bandsaw differently: The welding table should be lower than the bandsaw table and have a roller/bearing attachment atop it to move lengths of steel across it at the height of the bandsaw table. Otherwise, sliding piles of steel across the top of your welding table will (perhaps slowly) wear grooves into it thus making it less useful.
