Collaboration RetourMatras IKEA Renewi | The road to a circular mattress (English subtitles)

The unique collaboration with IKEA and Renewi has meant that RetourMatras can continue to expand the recycling capacity of used mattresses. In the Netherlands, we now recycle 1 million mattresses per year on 3 recycling plants. Sustainable mattress recycling leads to an optimal circular process because the materials that are released can be reused.
IKEA sells a large number of mattresses on an annual basis. It creates a responsibility to prevent these mattresses from ending up in the incinerator at the end of their lifespan. Recycling and the creation of circular mattresses is therefore an important part of the sustainability strategy. The intensive collaboration between IKEA, Renewi and RetourMatras ensures that the recycling capacity of mattresses is increased.
