Your story about your son taking a can if nuts for lunch reminded me of the time my son was allowed to take something for a snack in kindergarten. He took the pound of fresh green peas I had planned to make for supper. I was a teacher in the building and I got an intercom call from a laughing kindergarten teacher telling me Cory was sharing the peas I had probably planned to use for dinner. I never checked to see what he had taken. As we got in the car I just asked if he remembered his snack.

That is the first time I have ever heard of a mashed potato sandwich. I do remember my mom occasionally eating a potato chip sandwich. It was just plain potato chips and a little mustard if I am remembering correctly. I could make a meal out of a can of nuts too, especially cashews! I have both the Good Housekeeping and BH&G magazines that were in your stack. There's some pretty good stuff in them! 💛💛💛💛💛
