I have hoarded lots of images for many years not knowing anything about junk journals etc. Now I can put them to good use. I am amazed at your talent both for creating gorgeous images/journal pages but also the most pleasing way you create junk journals/collages/glue books etc. You have a real talent for composition and color coordination etc. Every page I see, I feel like lingering on it to check out so many gorgeous details. Just perfect! Thanks for sharing all the videos and how-tos.

Thank so much for your kind comments! I'm so glad I helped you come up with a few ideas of how to use your paper treasures :-) If you are on Facebook, stop by my group "Vintage Gluebooks and Pages", where lots of us post the collages we make. We'll help you get started doing collage work or simply be a fun place for inspiration.

You are so right about having too much on hand as far as collage elements. I find it so hard to even get started sometimes. Loved your process , TFS.

I really enjoyed and learned from your process here. I could see what you meant when you identified your problem and I really appreciated the finesse of your solution and the way it influenced how people’s eyes would interact with the image. I love the end result. Thank you for showing us how you work!

Thanks for this. It was really helpful seeing the process and how you put things together. I've just rediscovered my old childhood stamp collection and am sorting the stamps into colour and themes for use in journals to give them a second lease of life. I forgot how beautiful some of them are.

Isn't it fun going through old stamps? Take pictures (or make a video) when you're done. I'd love to see what you come up with! :-)

Just found you on KZbin…do you ever use your sewing machine to add texture and interest in your collage?
@MargareteMiller2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, I do sometimes, but rarely. I've got a heavy machine I pull out only when I really am sewing clothes! It's too much bother to change needles, so when my current needle is worn down, I sew papers before I put in a new one 😉

I like that you clean things off in the composition book. I'm sure it continues to get more interesting all the time! May I ask do your u intend to use these pages at some point in your collage? I love the Readers Digest covers. I recently noticed a stack of them in my favorite used book store. Hmmmm...
@MargareteMiller6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments, Pam. I love flipping through those grungy pages in that composition book. There's so much to see :-) I think I will keep the notebook as it is and not tear anything out. I hope you pick up a few of those Reader's Digest books. Not too many though, or you'll start to get overwhelmed with all the work you've set yourself up for.
@pamburke86146 жыл бұрын
Margarete Miller you're so right about not getting too many and getting overwhelmed! But I am definitely going to start the composition book ! I use them for my daily journaling and note taking, so why not grunge them up! Thanks for your videos, I enjoy them very much.

Loved watching your process and hearing your thoughts. Also love your "leftovers" book. Do you use completed pages in that book for backgrounds or collage elements? TFS!
@MargareteMiller7 жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie, I haven't used the completed pages for backgrounds but I need to start thinking about more creative ways I can use them. The more "life" I can create from them the better!
