Your "funky" chicken is so cute. I do love that background as it reminds me of vintage. Yes, rub ons are the best and now they apply completely and easily, unlike the older ones. Thanks for another great card.

I had to chuckle when you called the butterfly a bug. My 10th grade biology teacher would not have approved of that terminology. We had to do an insect collection project that Spring, which I hated. Of course, I didn't like biology anyway & wouldn't have taken it if I had known that I could have taken chemistry for one of my science credits. But whatever.... But she was VERY insistent that we had to put the title on the background as "insect" collection, NOT "bug" collection. There was a previous student, though - & I'm not sure if they did it on purpose out of spite or not - who called theirs an "incest" collection! LOL And the teacher STILL had the box that student had used - with that backer poster board! Anyway, not so great memories (other than the laugh about the incest collection), but now you know the rest of the story. ;) I really love how your card came out, Lydia. Hi Lydia. I am always glad when you are the contributor on my scs email feed…I always learn something cool. One question I have always had about masking: if you have to fussy cut a mask, why not just fussy cut the image and paste it on? Am I missing something? Thanks much!

You could - but working around the image that's already there helps me place each item like the rub ons and ephemera and stamping in a way that makes sense - for me it's an important part of making the whole design cohesive - great question.

Lydia, I noticed that you placed three different colors of yellow, in addition to the pink, on your glass mat to dip your markers in…. What does that do? Love the collage effect

They all looked yellow but it was actually a yellow and orange - I take the lighter color and pick up the next darker with that light marker and that just makes blending easier.
