How to create abstract collage art?
In this video I share with you the making of collage no. 36 for the Collaborative Collage Challenge.
The idea of the COLLABORATIVE COLLAGE CHALLENGE project is
to create small collages out of material that comes from people
around the globe to connect with my community and to challenge myself.
The biggest challenge for me is to create collages with random collage pieces. It's totally out of my comfort zone and every singe collage is teaching me a lot about myself and collage making in general.

Yeah, this was a tough one! One clue for myself that "it's just not working" is when I've torn my papers into such small pieces that they become useless. I think you realized you reached that point with the gray scraps in the top right corner when you said it was too busy. But kudos to you for continuing to experiment because that's how we learn. Your Friday videos are my favorites of all the YT channels I follow.

Thank you Lydia so much to show us that many times, we can start a collage and then we are not satisfied with the result so we have to make a stop or drop it. The creative process is something I am learning and I believe it is necessary to have some patience with ourselves!

My takeaway from this less-than-satisfying, collaborative collage demo piece is this quote from your e-mail. It's the nudge in your last sentence. "The main thing is that I took the time to be creative!"

I was left feeling that at the point you were really struggling, throw it all off, and start with a different combination.
