I'm 70 years old and lost my mother's recipe for her bread pudding. I have been looking for ages for a recipe like hers but never found one. Although I have tried many other recipes which are really good, this one is exactly like my mom's. Now I remember that if she didn't have evaporated milk at home, she would just use regular full cream milk and it came out perfect. With 8 children, nothing went to waste and every week all left over bread was made into bread pudding. She didn't make the sauce and it was just as delicious. Thankyou for finally ending my search and finding a recipe like mom's ❤

The last time I spent time with my grammie was at her apartment after she sold the homestead. She was an amazing cook. Hamburger steak, whipped potatoes, green beans and bread budding (with warm butter sauce and cream drizzled over top) for dessert. Country tea along side. OMG. That bread pudding she made on the fly and it baked while she cooked and came out right before we ate. Thank you for recalling that memory for me, Tammy. God bless.

My daughter and I worked in an Italian Deli ( early 1990's. )A German Lady, a Romanian grandma, an Irish cook, 3 Italian woman worked magic in the kitchen. Some of the recipes were from the 1930's. We lived in an Italian neighborhood, so,I would ask my mama if she wanted to try these little homemade treasures. One was the bread pudding. Love your grandma's treat. 💜💚💛💙❤

So this comment doesn’t have to do with this video, but I wanted to tell you that my mother-in-law bought some white lily vanilla pound cake mix from the store and we made the cake for my husband and he absolutely loved it!! I was able to give it to him on Christmas which cheered him up because he had to work on Christmas! I hadn’t heard of white lily flour before we watched your channel, so I wanted to tell you how much I liked it!❤

I too have recipe cards handwritten by my grandmother and my mom. Since they are both gone, when I use them I feel they are with me in the kitchen. I am a sucker for bread pudding. My parents owned a restaurant and our cook made this when she had x number of rolls! She froze them n then would make this with a simple glaze but this looks so much better with cream sauce! Lol can’t wait to try!

Hi Tammy! Oh my! Bread pudding is one of those comfort foods that always seems to bring back memories of meals at grandmother's or a favorite aunts. Tammy, I had just bought a carton of eggs from the store and cracked one in the skillet and cracked another one in the skillet. I had to throw them out because the second egg had a lot of blood in it. So I learned to always crack them one at a time in a bowl, no matter how fresh they are, even from the store.

Tammy, I have been cooking a long time, I didn't realize if you added the length of both sides of a pan, you could use it if it added up to the size you needed if you didn't have the pan called for in a recipe. ☝🏻💁🏻‍♀️I would say I don't like bread pudding but I may have had it once and it just wasn't right (I remember it being very eggy) but now that I am an adult I think I will give this one a chance 😉👍🏻 🤔I have seen soooo many videos on bread pudding and you used biscuits...well, honestly I made buttermilk biscuits for after dinner to satisfy my sweet tooth and they were soft and light (husband always says they are hockey pucks that could sink in Lake Michigan and soak the water out of it...any dense biscuit meets this description) but for once, they were really nice.🤷🏻‍♀️

I have found when I mix my nutmeg and cinnamon with the white granulated sugar, I don't have difficulty mixing the spices evenly.

Great looking recipe. I'll have to try it. Now, a 7" x 11" pan is NOT the same size as a 9" x 9" pan. 7" x 11" = 77 square inches, while a 9" x 9" = 81 square inches.
