Collectif Medz Bazar - Bobik / Yaro Jan (Live at Maxim Gorki Theater)

Collectif Medz Bazar is comprised of seven musicians, who sing and play original arrangements of traditional music from Anatolia, the Caucasus, the Balkans and other regions. While the group’s music is rooted in this traditional repertoire, Collectif Medz Bazar also plays original compositions, which are the fruit of group sessions full of musical creativity and lyric writing.
On stage, Collectif Medz Bazar balances tempered instruments with music from modal traditions, including Middle-Eastern percussion and Parisian voices of various origins (Armenian, Turkish, and French-American), inspired by folk music from Asia Minor and Iran, Caucasian Rabiz and rhythms from Thrace, with touches of Venezuelan sounds, operette, hip-hop, jazz and bluegrass.
