Relly good shoes for a yamadori trip 😉. Im from Slovakia and here, in our mountains are great field maples, suitable for bonsai, absolutely everywhere. I love maples. Fast scars healing, fast growing, nice barkv and leaves. Best tree. Keep it up a great work guys

What is the rooting hormone do you use?

Rooting hormone is used for cuttings or air layering. It's for creating roots from other parts of the tree. It won't help to encourage roots from existing roots.
