I too thought it a great deal. It's worn its 90k miles remarkably well. The seats look superb. I love that fabric design with the leather bolsters. I'm not surprised you were irresistibly drawn to it; and at such a great price as it turned out. You've proven yet again that there are bargains out there if you know where to look. Enjoy your time together!

Thanks for the comment. Owning a 600 back when nearly new must have been great given they were a new (and luxury) model to market. A rover 600 turbo. Definitely a cool addition. I'd definitely be interested in a 600ti Vs cosworth future video. Also interesting to learn that we both had 1.3 maestros as a first car. Maybe time to add a maestro to the fleet? 👀

Thanks for the comment Chris, great to know you are a fan of the 600Ti and want to see that Cosworth / 600 Turbo comparison (crazy these cars are so far apart on price!). Also, good to know someone else had a 1.3 Maestro as their first car... mine was British Leyland beige, but it was a very good car and saw me through those first two years of driving. Not sure if I'll ever buy in another Maestro, but having said that I didn't ever expect to own half of what currently resides in my little collection of cars. I wish you will have a Happy New Year Sir with your family in 2024 ! Rover 620 ti was my favourite car with the 416 GTi back in the days.. Here in Greece Rover's dealership was presenting the car with 200 bhp & some times they were talking about an edition of a little bit improved performance at 215bhp & 220 bhp ! What a stunning sedan ❤! Very well equipped & the fastest in it's category at the time.. During my work experience as a security employee in a 5 Star Hotel in Thessalonians , I:ve met a group of English men. They were working in a big company from England, which was constructing power units for factories. They stayed almost a year at our hotel & I became a friend of them. One guy called John , if I remember well he was from Derby , he told me that he was working in Rover factory in Longbridge. He left for some days in England & he returned back with his car..Mr.John had a blue (early released) Rover 75 in immaculate condition ! The year was 2005..Of course it had right steering wheel dashboard.I was the only person who trusted me to drive his car..It was lovely ! I remember he had a sticking compass on his windshield , which was like the globe 🌍.. One other guy from them was from Newcastle.. That guy went to England and returned back by his motorbike...He had an old but reliable Honda... He said me that he managed to cover this huge distance only in..2 days..The first day he left Newcastle & arrived in Torino... And the second day he covered the distance from Torino to Thessaloniki.. Amazing guys from England , both of them.. I cannot forget them !

@@cornishcarcollectors I tryed to purchase a Rover 620 ti ,2 two times in the period 2003-2004 Sir. Both of them had black paintwork. The first one belonged in a local individual dealership of Thessaloniki. During a very rough winter time regarding Greece , it was the only you which could start its engine with the first attempt.. Mercedes & BMW were not even close in the ignition sector compared with 620 ti ! It was a second hand car but unfortunately I discovered that it was involved in acar accident. The dashboard had marks at the globox and the lines between the front doors & the dash were not having equal sizes.. The same goes for the lines between the bonnet & the front wings & doors... So finally, I left it.. The second one was in immaculate condition It was from my birthplace town & its owner was a civil servant. I decided to purchase it but unfortunately someone else done it quicker than me and I lost the chance .. I was disappointed a lot... It's such a nice car ! If someone will maintain it correctly, I think he is going to have a good experience with it.. If I'm not wrong it's pretty fast (0-60 miles in 7,2 seconds) Some guys here in Greece mentioned that it could reach the speed of 280 km/h & few of them were claiming it could reach 300km/h !!!!

Along with Ford's I was a big fan of Rovers back in the 90s after my dad had an original 213 with the Honda engine and then went onto an original 418GSD turbo saloon before he then had an 820. I worked in the Motor Trade in the early 2000's and had a 620 turbo to drive and what a beautiful car that was to drive and they still look a stunning looking car 30 years or so later.

Great video and sad in a way the Rover didn't catch on, sad too as you said if it had a Ford badge on in the current car climate it'd be worth more. I think the police missed a trick not using the 620 ti though as both as marked and unmarked it would have been a great asset! I do remember seeing a few Tis but as I think the 623 was a bit more common, I presume that's Honda power too. My dad swapped his lovely Escort Rs2000 4x4 for a Honda Civic (ie rov 400). We travelled from West Yorkshire to a Honda dealer in Grimsby to test drive the VtiS mod el or rather I did as dad was unable to drive due to a recent op so I got the RS to drive and the Honda he eventually bought. Great quality great drive in the right mood , however a right pain in the backside on the motorway , with only 5 gears, at 70 -80 was doing 4200 revs. As said in the right mood the car was supreme. However after a couple of Ferris Bueller sessions I got tired of the noise. The Rover bits in the car stood up well the only thing it liked was brake light bulbs. Swapped for a Seat Leon Cupra , which was fast, more relaxed on the motorway, but harsh brittle ride, my Focus would leave it for dead in corners. Your car sheds make me jealous! Best wishes for the New Year, I've still not been back to Bude yet, or the Tamar valley , nor the Scandanavian lodges where we stayed 30 odd years ago. Ben 🇬🇧🇺🇦🚌🚐

I’m not the biggest Rover fan, the sporty R8’s are nice & I have a nostalgia for the Rover Metro because it was my first car. However that 800 Vitesse is a stunningly, handsome looking thing 😍 I nearly bought one in my early 20’s in the early 2000’s (which was a reasonable 8k from a Rover dealer) to replace my then Sierra 2.0i GT but my friends talked me out of it because it was an “old man’s” car 👴🏻 Ended up buying an Audi A4 2.8 Quattro in that oh so 90’s/early 2000’s Kingfisher blue which was a lovely car but I do regret not buying that Rover a bit 😕

I'm not in the Rover camp at all. However i do love your enthusiasm for the marque. When the kids were young my wife had the equivalent Honda to ferry them around, that was a fantastic little work horse. I worked for Ford from 1975 for many years so made no sense not to take advantage of there 25% discount for employees on new cars and of course all spare parts were heavily discounted too. Retired now so a new car every year is now out of the question. Do wish i had kept some of the cars over the years though

As for collecting these old cars, well I am always mindful of breaking down but I try to do my checks when with the car plus I have quite a few conversations with the seller prior to setting off to collect. To be honest, part of the fun is driving the car back and discovering the good (and often the bad!). I'm fully AA paid up so should always get home... eventually! Thanks again for watching the videos; I hope to hear from your again.

@@cornishcarcollectors hi, I really felt your pain when you were struggling to fill back up somewhere. I would have given up well before, got out and thumbed a lift 😂

From a fellow 620Ti owner, this looks lovely. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine! I see from looking at the engine bay a few modifications and improvements have already been carried out. The aluminium mount between the manifold and the throttle body fitted on your car is a great upgrade, I have fitted it to mine as well. The factory one is rubber and tends to perish over the years causing running and performance issues especially misfires.

Thanks for the comment, it is great to hear from another 600Ti owner. A few days into ownership and I am certainly enjoying it so far. As you'll know from the video, I loved my first Ti and was concerned about sullying that memory with a second, but that's not been the case at all. Thanks also for the tech info on the car as I am yet to delve into the engine bay... weather has been too bad here in Cornwall. I appreciate you watching the video. 👍

Thanks for the comment, it is great to know you like the 600. Appreciate the feedback on my Channel too. I have been bringing together some of my favourite cars over the past 15 years and I am just glad people enjoy following the cars and the collection. I do like the turbo diesel MG ZR - cracking to drive (arguably the best). Thanks for watching.

Weakness on the Rover 2 litre turbo's was the plastic cage inside the diff. I think the torque was detuned to 177lbft becsuse of that instead of being around 200lbft. Not sure if these ti models were affected.

Thanks for the comment. I love the BRM and used to have one. I owned mine for a few years and really enjoyed it. Kind of regret selling it really, but there we go. Thanks for watching. I hope you stay tuned for updates on the 25GTi and my other Rovers.

£1995 was cheap for that Rover 620 Ti.

Many thanks for the comment and your thoughts on the price of the 600Ti. I bid with the auction having a further 5-days to run and was surprised no one bid against me, so that maiden bid carried through to win the auction. I hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the comment. As for the aftermarket suspension and 17" 800 Vitesse wheels, no. I left them with Steve (seller) as I have no intention of modifying the 600Ti. Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.

Rover produced very good cars in the 90's, far better than Ford or Vauxhall, their collaboration with Honda was very positive, except Honda never let Rover have so much input after the very good R8 and this was seen in the 400 and 600 models, the 400 HH-R was Roverised with the booted saloon. The 600 was a total different kettle of fish, the 600 was pure Honda and the only thing Rover was allowed to do was to reskin the Accord shell and what a brilliant job they did, not a single panel was the same as the Accord. It was the most elegant and pleasing to the eye of the Rover saloons, but, the Honda interior made the car very cramped, especially sitting in the back with the badly designed front seats, it might have been ok for the small Japanese people but not the taller European. Rover however did put in their excellent L Series diesel engine in it, which made it class leading and of course the T series engine for the Ti. The Ti became a very abused car and gave it a bad name leading to very few of them about today, which is a shame because they were great to drive, to which I can testify.

Thanks for the comment and information, I appreciate it. As you say, the Rover range was strong through the 90s and it is borderline criminal the then Rover Group were not permitted to invest sufficiently to develop the next generation of Rover products. Still, there are enthusiasts around who keep survivors on the road. As for the Ti, many have gone the way of the car mod'er and numbers have dropped to sub-50 road registered cars. I shall certainly be keeping this one in good shape and ensuring it is a regular sight at shows. Thanks for watching the video.
