Great video...I just acquired a 1990 P100, with a manual Rover 3.5 V8 transplanted under the bonnet. It has a Ford Explorer shortened rear axel to accommodate the massive back tires. Due to it sitting outside for 2 years, it will need a slight tidy up, as shes a bit scabby, but cant wait to get it back on the road, and turn a few heads with it... :)

I had a 1300gt😂😂😂😂😂 gt really. 1600 laser, 2.0 and a 3.0 v6 auto. Loved all of them. I could even slide the 1300 at slow speeds on wet roundabout. Loved Fords of this era. I also had a 2.3 v6 cortina, was a bit of a sleeper in 0-60

I'd go steel OEM look personally. It was equally satisfying to see the interior transformation from this end. I thought I watched until the end, but I still missed the cigarette-lighter solution. Or did I?

Thanks for the comment and for sharing your thoughts on the wheels, I really am on the fence with this one. Great to know you enjoying the interior restoration, it is now a much nicer place to sit. As for the 12v socket, I actually bought a 12v cover from one of the new MGs and fitted that... I know it's not quite OEM, but I'll never actually use the lighter and at least it is kind of in the Rover / MG lineage! Thanks for watching.

A good save on the 12v socket. Well played. I've had some USB plugs that fit one socket, but not another on different cars from the same manufacturer. Not sure if there's an ISO standard for them, but if there isn't then there should be!

Im building a ZR Express on my channel at the mo, Reshelling my BRM into it and therefore going back to early R3 shape. Just pull that headliner out and reglue it. Those poppers are going to look awful 😂

Thanks for the comment, I'll take a look at your MG Express and give it a follow. 👍 As for the headliner, I will do a proper job of it once the van is painted... poppers are a temp fix and get the headliner off my head! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.

Great video, as always. It's nice to see something "normal" being restored to a good standard. Love an old MG Rover product. Im hoping you might have rescued that silver 400 as well. Cant remember the last time I saw one of those. As it's got black mirrors and the black bumper trims, etc, in my opinion, it should have the wheel trims on. Either would look a lot better than those halfords specials, though 👍

Thanks for the comment, I am really glad you enjoyed it... I wasn't sure how many people would tune into a Rover van video so it really is good to know there are people enjoying it. The silver Rover 400 was another diesel and I did try to make a deal but Edward intends to keep and restore these himself and I do not blame him. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the wheels. 👍

Thanks for the comment. Several people with experience of the L-Series diesel engine in these R3 Rovers / MGs had said the same to me, that the car goes really well, which is why I was a little surprised with performance when I collected it (as you can probably see from the video). Anyway, a decent service, fresh diesel... and connecting the turbo pipe! and the Rover is flying along, it is great fun. Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate it.

Not sure but it may have been my van. I bought it from a salvage yard in Darlington with light front drivers corner damage back in the mid 2000's as a spare for my electrical contracting business. It was a great little van & i have never forget about it. Do you have any mot certificates from garages in the Bishop Auckland or Barnard Castle area, if so then it was definitely mine. Great to see ine of these still on the road.

Thanks for the comment John, I appreciate you getting in touch. The service history on the R25 Commerce from 2005 to 2010 centres around Eston (TS6), so 40 or so miles from Bishop Auckland / Barnard Castle - this may very well have been your old van! If so, I found a spanner in the back so give me a shout next time you are passing Cornwall! 🤣 Whether this is indeed your old van or not I hope the video has brought back some fond memories. Thanks for watching.

I’ve owned a Capri since I left university in 1993. Bought my first in Geelong, Australia. Mk1 1600 auto. My current one is a 2.0s. Had V6s, pintos and a 5.0 V8 Capri. Imported my mk1 V6 from Australia to the UK after driving 1200 miles the weekend before from Melbourne to Canberra and back. Never missed a beat. Brilliant cars.

Just come across your video. I've just agreed to buy a house and in the garage was a g reg xr3i cabriolet, full electric pack AND factory fitted power steering. There's a few blemishes on the rear drivers side arch but other than that its immaculate. The owners are in their mid 70s and have owned it from 1994 , 2nd keepers it has 88k on the clock. They wanted shut of the car and a massey ferguson tractor, so ive negotiated both for £5500. Just got to tell my wife here beetle cabriolet is going to make way for it😂

Had the reverse problem with s viscous on a 2.9 XR4x4. Engine ran cold as it was seized on. Tried to get a new one, but living st the end of the world couldn't get parts, fan unit eventually swapped with a unit from a 4X4 Sapphire Cozzie, I'd have to say it certainly keeps the temperature down. Love the Capri, one dsy when I have money, I'll have to get my own injection special going again, they are a cool car. All the best from NZ
