I really like Fire Punch and it’s characters and story but I can see why some people might not like the ending. (Also read Houseki no Kuni, the first like 30 chapters are animated already)

@@TheNerdLounge +1 for the land of lustrous recomendation. I think the general plot is like if you combine Fire Punch with Attack on Titan (minus the Fujimoto weirdness), It's just soo good. And the artstyle is quite unique for manga, really amazing use of negative space. I say this has to be one of the best manga to use the black and white medium to its fullest potential. Soo, definitely bump this manga up your wishlist soon!

Literally started collecting manga in October after watching your buying guide as it mentioned Buuks and if it's legitimate or not. Having a collection of 50 volumes at the moment that I need to read consisting of: Tokyo Ghoul and TG: Re, 20th century boys, fire punch, dandadan, chainsaw man, toilet-bound hanako kun, all you need is kill, kaiju no. 8

@@TheNerdLounge Dandadan was an... interesting read. Bought it after seeing your video. Had a few moments that made me laugh but based on a video by The Masked Man the series doesn't really have a clear plot/story and is more episodic which is a thing I usually enjoy only if it makes me laugh a lot (way of the househusband would be an example here in my case) but who knows. I can't wait to start 20th century boys, I just need the first 3 volumes as I have all the others except volume 7 which is on the way from Amazon. As for chainsaw man, I bought it more as an experiment of sorts. I tried to get one of my friends into manga reading as well but he said he doesn't get any emotions from reading compared to watching anime so I wanted to see that for myself by reading the manga first and then watching the anime. Most of the stuff I buy for now either don't have a full anime adaptation or the manga and anime are different (I understood this is the case with Tokyo Ghoul). I also have my eyes on a series called No Gun's Life. The anime covers only 7 volumes and it has been interesting so far. I would briefly describe it as Jojo x Cyberpunk.

Nice haul! I’ve also been picking up Tokyo Revengers as it’s been coming out (cause it slaps). I also picked up all of Slam Dunk, Death Note, Laughing Under the Clouds, the Tokyo Ghoul box set, a Naruto box set, and since D. Gray Man is getting restocked in January I put in an order for that as well. Let’s just say my wallet is a bit lighter than usual because of all the sales. 😂

Fire Punch was an… interesting read. I didn’t dislike it by any means and it was very enjoyable, but damn. It was something. And the end is a little “eh”.

@@thommsen8158 I feel like a lot has been added to make it “adult” and “edgy” which is a step too far - literally in Volume 1 there is multiple counts of SA, incest and also sexual content with animals - it doesn’t really add to the narrative and I feel it could have been done more tastefully

@@thommsen8158 it’s not too much for me, I think those topics can be used in constructive ways - I just found in Fire Punch so far it’s just been chucked in for the sake of it (that’s the part I don’t like, you don’t need to cover those topics if it doesn’t add to the narrative) - Berserk has a similar problem
