Honestly I am not a reading person but I'm trying to change that. I'm slowly starting to see books as more than just a chore hobby and your review makes me actually excited to read this series.

@@Nemeantough1 I’m glad for that! This is a longer book and series that might be challenging, but if it really captures your attention it could be great!

Enjoyed your review. I've read the trilogy and agree with your A- overall rating. The last book had been written after the death of his daughter and I appreciate how he came back to finish the story for us. While not perfect, this is a series i will look forward to re-reading. A new subscriber.

@@tracejefferson3169 oh man! I knew he had been through something but I wasn’t aware of what had transpired! That is so sad. I wonder if writing the final book was cathartic at all. Thanks for the sub! It’s much appreciated! What was your favorite of the trilogy?
@tracejefferson316912 күн бұрын
@thesandersreview Yes, I saw him in an interview and he said it was cathartic to write Fury. I read the last one the week it came out and for me he could have filled it out so much more. I would rate Fury 4.5 out of 5. However as I've mulled over it in my mind I've realised the end is a tightly written climactic revenge tale for the main characters. This isn't a perfect book, but as time goes by I like it more. I read it from the library and have bought a set for rereading. I liked Shadow the best. I think The Bloodsworn is a better written trilogy, but I LOVE The Faithful and the Fallen for the emotional impact.

Hello. This trilogy of books looks fascinating. I hope that one day it will be translated into Brazilian Portuguese.

@@michelcarvalho1990 that would be cool! I don’t know how that works, but hopefully it will happen for you. Maybe audiobook too?

This was the worst kind of series to read, in that it starts out with a bang... Then is just a perpetual let down. These books are C tier at best.

The first two books were 5 Stars. The last book is a 3 star at best.
@thesandersreview19 күн бұрын
@@jameslandis4058 I agree that there are moments that drag on, but for me, there were a lot of great story choices and world building moments. I have no idea how John Gwynne outlines and preps, but I think a lot of it may come from “pantsing” and discovery writing 🤷🏽♂️

@@darknaveed I gave the first two 4-4.5 stars personally. What about the 3rd one let you down?
@jameslandis405818 күн бұрын
@@darknaveed, I think people throw 5 stars around way too much these days. The first book showed promise, but everything else was mediocre. There's nothing exceptional about these books, i.e. characters, plot, world building, finale, etc.
