I love the covers you made for your rare cds. I must hunt down that Genesis In The Begining series on cd. I've seen some cds that has demos from the early albums for download, but it's great to have the real thing. Your Genesis collection videos is very cool to watch. Thanks for taking the time to make all of them. I'm having a blast seeing your Genesis albums/cds !! Thanks for sharing Dereck.

I've never seen cd's you shared. Nice collection. First time I saw Genesis was The Lamb Lays Down on Broadway tour and at the Shrine Auditorium in LA. Love theatrics in a show. This was an amazingness concert. Guess it was in '75 (per your CD). Still one of my fav shows. Constume changes n all. Next show was in Irvine Meadows. It was the first show w/out Peter Gabriel. No one warned us the drummer was going to be the singer. Was very disappointed there was no Peter. Had first row. They over sold the show. We were asked to move to the grassy area in the back of venue. I instigated our row to sit in front of our ticketed seats. Very angry we lost our front row seating. Wanted seats for promoter's girlfriend and friends. Then we found out Phil was taking Peter's place. Coulda used a heads up of changes. Still love the original line up. Not a bad effort by Phil but no Peter Gabriel. Thanks for sharing.

4:34 I've always identified with the character of Albert from that album. He never gets anything right, and yet he keeps going. Such impactful music

@Paneeks1960 Yes, on that one I just did the front insert, the back cover was from the label. If you watch again I made the cover for the bootleg right before that promo as well as several others. Great fun when you have the time.

Love "More Fool Me" and "Me I'm Just a Lawn Mower....". Think that's the wrong name but cant think of it. Both sung by Phil Collins in OG line up.

I will say the same thing to you that I said to Gil {kingsdrummer} "you surely can tell the appreciation you have for Genesis". I used to buy anything and everything Morrissey related on CD but I do not do it as much anymore unless it has a rare B-side on it. He is even starting to release the b-sides on his LP's so I can save more money on CD singles. I noticed that you made a nice cover on 'Not About Us' like you did for my Zeppelin promo. 11:32 An amazing Genesis collection~ Rob/Boston

@dereckvon Well, I got the 1983-1998 Box Set for Christmas and had Calling All Stations. A Few days ago, I gave it a listen and it wasn't as bad as everyone claims. The Title Track, The Dividing Line and One Man's Fool are great tracks imo the rest is kinda eh

Wow, the "In the Beginning" boots are extremely rare - congratulations on having all of them! I only managed to get volumes 3 to 5 at the time of their release, circa 1995. Did you know that there is a Brazilian reissue in six volomes? Never seen it though...

@kfsfkakf I never bought Calling All Stations and have only heard the singles from it. I had effectively lost interest in the band at that point.

Remasters are trash, imo. The 94s had noise reduction applied and the newer ones are remixes. Blech. The old 80s discs, meanwhile, are faithful to the sound of the original vinyl. And have better dynamic range than the new discs.
@De_Futura4 жыл бұрын
Completely agree, but the definitive versions of The Lamb, Nursery and Wind still are the 70s vinyl.
@suicidality27442 жыл бұрын
Just a matter of opinion. I really like the sound of the 94 remasters. Much better than the 2007 stereo mixes.
