I am still convinced Collective Soul stole the main riff of this song from me when I was living in Atlanta. I used to play it all the time as a warm up exercise with my apartment windows wide open. Who knows, maybe Ed or somebody happened to be driving by and said, "hey, that sounds cool, we should use that."

Dont think so, the band's popularity has nothing to with Ross's departure from the band, it's just the way the music changed over the years. The radio is dominated by pop nowadays and rock in general is hardly supported.
