Man the old falcons are awesome, while they may not demand collector car prices (unless it's a sprint), they're killer little cars. In Canada they sold like nuts and back in the day you saw a good chunk of drag racers run them due to how light and disposable they were. It would be cool to see more videos like this one* thats just all the 'non collector' cars like the S12, where the value is probably topped out. You're not alone. I'd own one. I'd even take one of them old late 40s Hudson Sedans. About a decade ago, I had the chance to get a stupid good deal on a fully functional and recently mechanically restored 58 Cadillac Sedan. Body had very minimal rust, glass was perfect, chrome was still very shiny and all the electronics inside worked flawlessly. All it needed was a new interior, a little bit of dent repair along with some missing trim pieces and a respray. It drove beautifully and basically fired up with the turn of the key. They wanted 8k for it... I kind of hate myself for not taking that when I had more than enough cash to buy it and make some repairs. There's a whole category of these topped out, non-collector cars. RA64/RA65 Celica, ST162 Celica, AE92 Corolla GTS and SR5, Paseo, Mazda MX-3 and MX-6, Ford Probe, Pontiac Fiero, Nissan Pulsar NX (the US Pulsar), S110, S12, 300zx Z31, Subaru XT, XT6, and SVX. There's a bunch cars like this that are very attainable. Some are forgotten for a reason, like the SVX or Fiero. But some genuinely are REALLY, REALLY good platforms without all the markups of more popular chassis. I've owned three RA60 Celicas, and only JUST now bought my first AE86. I spent 3k on the AE86, and I've spent 4.7k on my nicest RA65 lol. Some of these cars aren't "cope cars", especially Toyota products. The RA60 is a completely different driving experience, and I honestly prefer it. Not having an anime, or drift tax, or 2000s shitty blockbuster inflate the prices just leaves more of these interesting cars to people who want to put in the work. One thing I don't think I've ever heard you guys mention, is how deliberate price inflation keeps some of these chassis from absolutely becoming extinct. The AE86 is such a good example of deliberate price inflation to keep knuckle-dragging brainlets who just got off the tofu hype-train for wrecking more of these chassis. I would definitely like to see more of a spotlight on these attainable classics for sure. Maybe do a video talking about the RA64/RA65 Celica?

@LukemDakuwa Жыл бұрын
@@CollectorCarFeed I'd find a way to daily it by either sourcing wear components for the drivetrain or immediately planning a swap for when the engine can't handle me. Something about pre-war and early post war car design just sings to a time where things had to be built to satisfy the kind of people that made do with as little as possible. The way the car looks, that old school aero design, calls back to boy racers of the 20s and 30s who had to juice their rides to get business done in a harsh time. Plus, a set of fat wheels under a skirt makes for a seriously cool silhouette. If I had that thing, I'd drive it til one of us kicked the bucket either as a daily or a funday car. Of course, I'd have to have a source on wear parts like plugs, and finding a gasket for that things smoking could be a real bitch, but the fact that it runs means that the major stuff is still there and in running condition so the biggest headache would be updating spark so im not relying on a shitty distibutor from the land of cheap steel. On the bright side, there are plenty of old fossils that still love this era and have a monthly meet where they and the younger scene showoff their cars. There's 20's all the way up to present day cars most of the time, a neighbor at the other house I lived had a 66 mercury comet custom that I talked and helped out with when I replaced my trucks power steering pump and radiator. At the time he decided his kids wanted to keep it and started working on it again to drive it to the show instead of him and his shop buddy trailering it looking for buyers. If I had the stones to pony up the 4k he asked for it, I woulda bought it and start messing with it to make it a second daily or just a fun off day car.

For me my dream car has always been a Mitusbishi Eclipse 2nd Gen "as stupid as it sounds i know lol" but you can barely find one in a good and unmolested running condition nowadays since most of them either are rusted to hell, have a blown engine or are Paul Walker's tribute car projects "don't get me wrong about the last one, the guy was a cool actor and stuff but haven't we seen enough of those tribute cars already?" I also understand the "Get a GS-T/GSX dude, AWD 4G63 engine bro, so sick no cap frfr" but here's the thing, the latter is pretty much impossible to find here in Puerto Rico therefore you'll have to settle with the weaker Chrysler engine one unless you swap it for something better. Soo in all honesty.....I bought a 2006 cts cadillac...265 hp...3.5...rear wheel....had some offsets on it shit looked clean..bought it for 1,950.....yes it was lil rough but that's the benefits of being a mechanic

Netgear absolutely nailed that. I've never cared about supercars, personally. They're impressive, but I'm not really interested.

I totally disagree about the S12. They're becoming such a unicorn car to get. Those cars are gonna go up in value similarly to the MR2 and the Celica.

I like supercars and all but what if my dream car is a VR6 swapped Subaru WRX bugeye wagon? People say dream big? don't, dream fun!

I always remember when the AZ-1 first became legal to import, Everyone was crowding it at this car meet. asking questions, and people were like "this is so fucking cool" and these were boomers, children, etc. people who aren't JDM nuts. This same car meet had lambos, ferraris, higher end vettes, etc. But this little autozam was getting all the attention.

I’m stuck between buying and building . C5 or C6 corvette are turn key fun. Sc400 is at least 15k build but are hella cool. Hard choice
@PlatinumNath Жыл бұрын
Depends on if you're going to enjoy spending time wrenching and looking for parts to have fun later, or simply just stand on the gas and have fun right away
@LOVE-VIBES-X-PROJECT-CARS Жыл бұрын
C5/C6 because they're lighter and you'll have a larger range of be aftermarket performance for cheap. Sc400 is nice too but it's only automatic and they're pretty heavy, but solid solid cars.

Dont get me wrong, I completely I agree about true car enjoyers being more interested in the quirky cool sports cars instead of supercars, but I feel like there is a middle ground with things like wanting to own an early gen gated r8, ferrari 360/ 430 in manual, and a 992 or 996 in manual. I would much rather have an older supercar that still gives the analog feel than a new huracan or something.

As I just work my way through old uploads from one of my new favorite channels, I have to ask why sometimes the "wanna talk some shit?" Isn't beeped, and like t his video it isn't. Are some of them monetized and some not?

the s2000 will one day be on the supra level of unattainable. it’s only a matter of time until people realize how good those cars are and then everyone buys them and become the next 240…which is why i’m trying to buy one right now lol
@unrealmagic6519 Жыл бұрын
Yes s2000 is also my dream. You can still get a Supra for 30-40k. You must have confused it with the R34 gtr which is 100k at least
@keeplearning4L Жыл бұрын
@@unrealmagic6519 u can’t get a good supra for 30-40k, they always have hidden problems. either it’s rhd with hidden rust or hella beat usdm. if u really want a mint s2k u can get one easily for 35-40k with sub 40k miles, i don’t think u can say the same w the supra
