I paused right at the first exercise and tried to solve it myself: I figured out the correct KVL equations (although with a slight difference) and besides some minor errors due to assuming Vbe = 0.6 instead of 0.7, I got the correct result! what is value for base volatge, VBB? Is it 0V?

If there isn’t a resistor between the emitter and ground, then the base voltage should just be the voltage difference between the base and the emitter. He mentions that it should be around 0.6 or 0.7 V for the transistors he is using.
