Tom Pfrogner is not your average Lost in Space fan. This high school band teacher has outfitted his basement with an incredible life-sized reproduction of the Jupiter Two Flight Deck and talking B9 Robot which accompanies his impressive collection of screen-used and screen-worn props and costumes from the cult-classic TV shows. Joining Lisa is Doug Hines, a fellow Lost in Space fan and builder of movie and television prop recreations. Doug appraises this out-of-this-world collection and offers Tom a trade for one of his beloved items for another rare piece of Lost in Space history.

I was age five when show was on tv, Sep.1965. Even for the second season we did not have a color tv. And would mom let us kids watch what we wanted to? Nope. Such was life growing up...Believing we would all enjoy space travel in our time. All you need now is...a full size Chariot and huge Wolly one-eyed monster!!! As a collector I’m sure he weighed out the ability to find the dolls again compared to something signed by everyone. On the other side, getting 3 dolls at once is a pretty good trade too so it seems like a fair deal for both collectors.

Back in the late 70s, I was still living in Vegas as a teenager. I would go to the MCM prop store in the MCM hotel a lot. They had tons of authentic props from movies and TV shows. Once I was there and they had one of the "cycles" from the daniel J. Travanti episode where smith breathed in some gas and got strong and had green curly hair. These misfit biker hippie aliens were sent to destroy the planet the robinsons were on. They had two space bikes in the show. They had one at the MCM prop store and I got to climb on it and really check it out. I believe it and all the props were destroyed in the 1980 mgm hotel fire.

Daniel J. Travanti from Hill Street Blues. You know what other actor from Hill Street Blues was in an episode of Lost in Space? Michaels Conrad "Let's be carful out there", played the prisoner Creech in the episode Fugitives in Space. Interesting bit of trivia, the makeup artist that created the mask for Creech would use the same technique for the Planet of the Apes film that was in production around the same time.

@AvengerII
@AvengerII 2 жыл бұрын
@@Anth230 Guy Williams was also NOT a fan of the LIS series. He thought it was silly, that the scripts were terrible. He was probably not also happy that the series quickly became the "Dr. Smith and Robot" show. Granted, series revolve around the more popular characters but when you're hired as THE lead and your co-star gets the producer's and writers' preferential treatment it doesn't sit well. Call it human ego but when your employer hires you with different assurances it never sits well. Although he was typecast by the Disney Zorro TV series Williams' general experience with that series was more pleasant for him.

Working engine lights, and a massive sound sound system to recreate those sweet engine sounds!!! A working chariot I could drive around in! And of course a Robot!! Would have to build a Space Garage, since we all knew the chariot would never fit inside the ship unless you built it larger than scale! Forget about the Space Pod! I’m not that attached to it, again not enough room! BTW, Marta Kristen is STILL beautiful and lovely! (Personally, I was more infatuated with Judy, than Penny, but she was lovely too)! PS. Lisa is a sweet lady. I thought his estimate of the ship being $20k was way off. It's worth double that ... Easley.

I question these appraisals. There is a point in time where the value starts to drop simply because the number of original fans are getting fewer and they are not being replaced by new fans.

In Australia in the early 70’s I could never find toy replicas of the various Laser Guns.Phasers From Star Trek...But no LOS lasers.Is there anyone out there that could tell me if they were made in the U.S.I see this collector has them in his collection and at least the pistols look mass-factory made.It would blow my mind to own one.Thanks💫
