Hey guys, I was the seller of the ‘89 240SX on cars and bids. Just so you know, I didn’t post it on cars and bids just to save a hundred bucks. 😂 I did initially try to list the car on bring a trailer but they were not willing to post it for the reserve I requested (which was less than the selling price on cars and bids). They were wanting me to either list it with no reserve or a reserve that was so low it would just as well have been no reserve. They straight up told me that the car would not sell for the reserve I was requesting and were sending me links to cars in much worse condition as “comparables”. On top of all that, they gave off the vibe that they honestly didn’t really care about the car. After having such a negative experience with them I reached out to cars and bids. Cars and bids was a completely different experience, they didn’t even question the reserve I requested and seemed genuinely excited to list the car. I can’t state how much better of an experience it was to deal with cars and bids as opposed to bring a trailer. As far as the sale price goes, I was happy with it. Maybe it would’ve sold for more on a different site, but you never know. As y’all are well aware, there are so many variables and no guarantees with any auction. At the end of the day, selling the car freed up space for other projects I’m working on, I got what I wanted for it, and the buyer got a super clean S13 so it was a win-win for everybody.

When my grandma stops driving I get her mint condition 20,000 mile 2004 Saturn L300 V6. Given it's a weird NPC car in showroom condition, it seems perfect for cars and bids. Sorry Grandma, gotta get that bank 🤑 Edit: It also has a rear DVD player with a flip down screen even though it's a pretty small sedan. Bonus quirk points for sure

I agree with Net Gear when it comes to the people and their overraction and constant crying towards cars being stock. Like dude, not everyone wants to take a pretty much reliable and unmolested car as it is and just make into another shit box or project that in the long run will be nothing but constant issues and a overall waste of money to you and let's face it eventually you'll want to get rid of it for a ridiculous price. Cars in stock form are just as reliable as a modified car as long as you give it the proper care and maintenace you'll be good to go and besides, there's beauty in simplicity sometimes, not everything needs to be chopped, loud or faster than flash in order to be a "better" ride.

Interestingly enough, Doug has yet to review a 240sx, presumably because original spec, unmolested examples are so rare to come by. Hopefully he’ll reach out to the new owner of this one!
