Clout has done irreparable damage to the car community. So many nice cars got turned into literal scrap heaps. I firmly belive this is a result of the "respeck all buildz" movement, there is absolutely nothing to 'respect' with a Dodge Grand Caravan with tinted out lights/windows and a LED strip taped to the bottom for "underglow" or the seemingly infinte supply of Subarus that get their exhausts chopped to make as much noise as possible on their daily commute between taco bell and their moms house

I haven't driven it since a guy got in it and ruined the ignition 3 years ago- I'm now resurrecting it, but its perfect. It makes total sense that only the stock cars driven by people who drive like responsible adults are the only ones that haven't been totaled. Makes total sense. These are FANTASTIC cars on which NOTHING fails if you leave it stock. These things are bulletproof. And you could change the oil and filter with your eyes closed. It's so easy. Other than that most S13s put up for sale are either pretend drift cars or have some issues the sellers don't want to repair and if you would like to buy one that has never been modified you would have to pay €22000 / $23500 or even more. Little known fact - the reason these cars used to go for 500 dollars decades ago is because they were absolute massive pieces of puppy poop. Nissan is to Japanese cars as to what AutoVAZ is to European cars, cheaply made junk for the masses and the only half decent cars had niche, exclusive markets that may as well have been just politicians and CEOs. They were heavy (like a Camry!), underpowered, and despite being so heavy, they were flimsy, so flimsy that they've been described as 'wet noodles'. They however had three things going for them - they were cheap (definitely cheaper than a fox body or comparable Mustang), they were plentiful, and they were featured in Israeli-American films.

Turns out that when he got it his friends were making fun of his ass on his FB profile for buying the rustiest S14 on the market. I guess he got hit hard by post-nut clarity afterwards because despite getting a frame donor he never fixed the rust. I think he wanted to use small patch panels here and there but later realized that the entire underside needed one big ass patch and just gave up. I suspect it'll be passed around on temp tags by clout chasers before finally being parted out a year later.

Power Stone, was my heart's desire, But fate had other games to fire. Soul Calibur, a warrior's might, along with Tokyo Extreme Racer, a neon night. I gotta get that song lol. I had a slick trimmed e30 325is when I was in the army in 2011. At that time I was avoiding 240 dudes like the plague. I'm not surprised it didn't change. Same collapse happened on XJ Cherokees. Their owners didn't care and they got clapped and crushed. I have a purdy darn nice 1990 Cherokee 2dr 4wd that I've restored, literally bought it for $600 in 2019. Now it's worth $5,500 on the bottom end rn lol.

There's curently an auction for a 97 Silvia K on BaT, and it's leagues above all the crap you see on facebook marketplace. It makes you wonder how delusional these people on Facebook really are with these prices considering how much really clean 240sx's sell at auction for even modified ones.

I genuinely hate the current car secene. Specially here in Europe. Every car I ever liked got his price blown several times fold by the hype or inflation or all left units are ruined, tasteless uncared for by idiots who treat a car like a pair of shoes and are just in because it's trending. Gatekeeping is a moral duty at this point. If you like a niche car it's almost scary to talk about it on making it known to anyone else. Fuck.

You guys should look at IS300s, I came close to picking up a manual swapped one a while ago, but ended up getting a super clean manual G35 coupe sport I saw driving home from work instead, literally a grandpa owned it and was selling it for the actual NADA value. I'm afraid to mod it or drive it in the winter 😅! So I''m shopping for another for trackdays, it's pretty fun to drive but Zs and Gs need the full SPL Parts treatment to feel connected at the limit.

A guy was selling an 240 SX on my driveway for 5000 very clean 50k miles. Someone buyed it a year ago and it's now a shit box with a blue purple paint no bumber in the back and make a mosquito sound everyday and also doesn't have interior or passenger seat anymore because Recaro seats are better I guess... It make me sad that because of such stuff thoses beautiful cars became so rare and so sought after, same goes for Miata, supra, civic and bmw 3 series.

All things considered we got it for pretty cheap and its been hella fun to drive and work on and take care of, and I plan on keeping it mostly stock as much as I can, its a beautiful car and hella fun to drive on its own, even without clapping it the fuck out and people just gotta appreciate these cars as they are

New car idea, old Grand Wagoneers. Lots of charm, terrible build quality, and loves to rust. And like the 240sx, it's a status symbol but for rich people despite all those issues. Price range $2k-$102k. Some scary ones out there and others with expensive bad taste.

Im sure you guys do a bit of "off camera" stuff to mitigate this, but one of the obvious problems that may cause you all to feel like there's so much crap out there is because the legitimate good deals are potentially snached up so quickly. Stuff like this is why I refuse to put cheap coilovers on my Honda Fit. All the mods I've done are light and improve quality of life, dropping your car ti the point where you bottom out and bash in your undercarriage is not a quality of life improvement. I have 2 coworkers who slammed their cars (one of whom also stanced his). They're constantly having to do suspension work amd alignments and the one with the stanced car had to replace his oil pan due to damage. The only suspension kit I'd considet getting at this point is the HFP suspension.

Only bad thing about it was a pinky sized chip on the front bumper because someone backed into me in a drive through. Besides that all stock with coil-overs wheels and exhaust. wish I kept it but it’d be impossible to daily with the summer weather in AZ and no A/C parts redly available.
