@@shooburshune Thank you :) As much as CVTs get their fair share of hate, at least Honda CVTs last a while. I intend to keep my Fit for as long as I can. I just started the 300k mile service stuff; oil change, water pump, coolant flush, the works. Some day, I do intend to K-Swap the car, as there is a lot of documentation about it. For now, going to keep it pretty stock, perhaps get some better tires and suspension. It's already very fun as is :)

They're probably so expensive because Americans have a severe aversion to compacts and manual transmissions, and thus probably sold only 300 each year. Combine the two and you have a car that not even those commercials with the cool black dude driving this car (and specifically the manual version) impressing the white woman in the dorky white guys lifted truck can help. You know, those "beta white/alpha black" commercials that Americans can't get enough of.

Owned a White 2010 Fit Sport for 7 years, 125k-187k miles. Flawless up until a spark plug electrode broke off and scorched my cylinder at 177k. Was in the middle of a road trip, and had to drop it off at the dealership to get assessed. They quoted me 5k to put a 60k engine in it and a new clutch. I paid 6500 for it 7 years ago, so not going to happen. Instead I found the same engine on ebay, took the car to my fathers and swapped it myself. Was ready to take that car another 100k miles as it was like a street legal go kart, so fun to whip around. After only 9k miles with the newer engine in it, someone hit it while it was street parked, and given its current value (5k) insurance totaled it out. Fun while it lasted, hope to have another someday as it was an amazing daily, practical and fun. Downgraded to an Si, and kind of don't regret it. Every time I see one though, I feel it in my heart. Really wish Honda would make a new vehicle with similar shape language as I really love the 2nd gen body as well as the 7th gen Si, a few tweaks and it could look really planted and aggressive. Edit: Found it for sale in Chillicothe, OH. Someone go get it.

@@fortheloveofnoise Why? My insurance is dirt cheap with full coverage, he was at fault and it cost me nothing, all while getting back the full value of my car. compared to everything else shown, i think i made out alright with my fit. always wanted a manual 6th gen civic, but nice ones are scarce. picked up a 1st gen fit for 5,500. sure its a base model, but its got the stick, 129k miles (ive put about 5k on it since purchasing it in june), & a new clutch. the impressive thing, is that it has no rust around the quarter panels or frame & the clear coat hasn't worn out. anyway, the car has been a delight and is surprisingly quick in 2nd & 3rd. I wouldn't mind doing some AX in it.

Yall done the Fit real dirty in this episode. I love my GD3 (first gen) on coilovers and semi-slicks. Keeps up with way more expensive cars bombing into cloverleafs, sounds decently good with a muffler delete for what it is, and can drive it balls to the wall everywhere and still be fine while also netting 30+ mpg. Sure its fail-wheel-drive but still fun:cost ratio is through the roof.

The Fit is the priciest of the subcompacts, but it's also the best. Easiest to maintain, super fun to drive, way more cargo space than a car of it's class has any right to have, and I get 35 MPG even as a leadfoot thrashing it around every back road. I proudly hae a 15 LX 6 speed which I will run into the ground (which will take a while because it's a well maintained Honda). You want a daily that's cheap to run without sacrificing smiles per gallon, the Fit reigns supreme.

Then i got a 2005 fiesta 1.4 gasoline n/a, chassis was much better, power was meh (but still more than the fit, you could actually crawl without using the gaz pedal, only the clutch).
