The boxes say "1 parallel or short print per box!" right on them, so it's not unreasonable to expect a parallel or short print in each box. That said, this set seems like most of what Fanatics is pushing out these days. Overpriced junk with a small chance at a valuable hit.

2017 paid big in football. Got 50k worth of cards for less than 2k spent busting packs but that's probably only year in recent memory. I busted over 50 retail optic got bronze auto Maholmes RC plus many base.

If he didn't get the parallels, then he should have gotten a short print. Might want to double check. One youtuber got a short print and Ohtani name is not in english but in Japanese.

The box only said 1 PARALLEL from the very beginning, so it didn't have to be numbered and I have seen just regular Topps Chrome versions of these cards on ebay, so that was likely their one parallel. 1 parallel per box for that price was crazy though. I only bought 1 pack and got a card /50, so that was $26 well spent for me. But the other cards weren't worth the hype.
