Watching this makes me wonder as to what kinds of books are selling more than others and for what reasons, whether someone is a fan of Hoover's work(s) or not. To that end, I once asked an industry colleague of mine if Colleen Hoover's books are "Pulitzer Prize Worthy material" in a genuine way, considering ALL the media and social media hype surrounding her. They relied "no" in a quick-witted manner.
@beeeeez9598

@@JavierGonzalez-lp3ke I think good marketing is essencial and also analyzing what kind of books people are into at the moment. There are great books out there for sure, but they might not be considered valuable to the market, not because they are bad but because most people would not be interest in reading them.

Wow, did all these people even listen to the video? Or did they just pick a random video about her and comment (so hateful) without even knowing what’s it about?? I understand, romanticizing abuse isn’t a nice topic to talk or read about. But it actually happens in the real world and so did it happen to her mother AS SHE WAS JUST SAYING in the video! So basically she isn’t romanticizing abuse, she is telling the story of her mother in a way, maybe because she wants people to be aware of abuse often taken place without even realizing by themselves or maybe she needs to process a trauma she probably got, but who knows? What concerns me more is the fact that a lot of people enjoy reading about dark romance and romanticize being stalked or killing people… but that’s OKAY??! So you’d say these characters in dark romance books aren’t toxic at all? Why does nobody talk about how problematic dark romance books can be? And they often don’t even have a trigger warning and if they have them they don’t include all the problematic topics the books talks about.

@@ilijagruevski9500 her book it ends with us does not romanticize abusive relationships, it acrually shows how they can slowly develop into something toxic without you even realize it and then the main character is, fortunately, able to get out of it.
