I would take Flynn out of school and tell the school that the activity you’re going to be doing is educational and then have Flynn make a little poster board or little presentation with pictures from the aquarium to show his class. When I was in elementary school my teachers would sometimes let the students give little presentations on things that we were interested in to foster love for learning.

My mom would always pull me out to school for various reason. She would always say… don’t let school get in the way of your education. And I it’s stuck with me. And I will be doing the same with my kiddos. So bravo mom!

As a teacher, pull him! He will be fine for a day or a few days! It’s okay!!! He will gain so much from going to the aquarium and seeing his favorite animal!!! (Also kindergarten is not compulsory- that starts in 1st grade-at least in NY) but this will be such an amazing experience for him!!!

I don't blame you or judge you. Flynn has already learned so much with both of you. Flynn really seems to enjoy learning. I love that you both nurture your children. If I had a child Flynn's age I would be home schooling. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Carrot aka ERIK!!!!. I pray that you and colleen fall deeper in love than you have ever thought imaginable. I pray that you take the time out of your busy life and drink in the beauty and love of your sweet family. Take the time to write down all of the funny sayings or actions each kid does. One day you find they are saying and doing everything they should be doing. A note of all the things that bring joy to you. Do this so that when you are having a hard time, you can sit down for a few minutes and read through the list and hopefully it will make you feel better.

I don't find it bad parenting at all to take your son out of school for a day to have fun. Especially, that you will take to his teachers about it. Its important sometimes to take a day of school to have fun. Sadly, I am way to OCD to do that.

When my kids were little and we wanted to take them somewhere or they needed a day at home we called them mental health days. In our district mental health days are an excused absence. I did this whenever they needed a day to rest their brains or were having a rough time. It makes you an amazing mom!

I have never been pregnant with twins, but when I had nausea with my 2 pregnancies I lived for any fruit flavored Life Savers. Just having some type of mild food that lasted a while helped me tremendously. They were easy to carry with me and eat them anywhere, work, in the car, shopping, church etc.

My mom always said school was my responsibility and commitment, like adults had to go to work. Never got pulled out :( Weird that the aquarium isn’t open on the weekend though, that is usually the most popular time to visit.

I don't think it's a bad thing to take your kid out of school for a day. As long as he does the work he has to make up for school whenever possible that's okay. I don't think your'e a bad mom for pulling your son out of school for a day. I am sure he will be fine and will be making so many memories with you. And as a almost high school graduate, I assure his teachers will let Flynn do a little presentation for his class on what he's interested in. A lot of students showcase their talents and interests in front of their peers. As educators teachers should bond with their students. Flynn is already learning so much from you and Erik. Also he will probably remember this his whole life!

Don't feel bad at all. He will love his time seeing the cuddle fish. England have just clamped down even more on pupil attendance. Parents get fined if children miss too many school days. I got the third degree taking my oldest out for hospital appointments. Where you going, when is she going to be back etc etc.

youtube old house renovation vids....specifically Rural France-i have learned so much about my newly acquired Old House beyond what the local "experts" know. I use to let my son skip a day if something special was happening like his great grandparents birthday or his birthday it's just nice for them to have a special day to do something exciting. He's gonna be fine with the be day outta school. You're a super good mom! Don't worry about it :)
