I realized that you said you tried doing a psych major, i know there will be a lot of memorization, I just wanted to ask you is it worth it! Ive heard a lot about psych majors i've heard some say that its pointless if you dont take at least 1 minor with it, and ive heard that most ppl who take psych majors are taking the easy way out, which i dont necessarily agree with, bc yes psych is a popular major but i've taking abnormal psych, and right now i am taking social psych, and i have to say psychology althout it may be considered one of the easier majors, its a very complicated field, bc you have to study many different things, and i think even know diff parts of the brain and their functions, i am very into like crime and stuff, and i want to work with kids and so over the summer is when i made the decision of majoring in psych bc i think id do alot better in that rather than like biology and chemistry. Sorry that was alot lol! P.S i am a senior in hs

Hiii honeybun, i'm so happy that you're expressing your thoughts and don't worry i love when people explain themselves. to be completely honest, it is a lot, and i'm surprised to hear that people think we're taking the easy way out lol. i definitely feel like it is worth it, especially since you already have some intellect on what you're going to be doing while being a psych major. since you mentioned wanting to work in crime theres criminology which is something a lot of people in psych work towards. as for kids, there countless things that you could do lol such as child psychologist or therapist just to name some. psychology is everywhere, so don't worry, if you still want to continue psych but don't want to do what you mentioned, you can still find something to help people. as for the memorization part, that is absolutely correct and what comes with this major. since i feel like we're on the cuff of techincally being a medical student but not really, there's still a lot that goes on into getting your bachelors. the only thing that they don't tell you while in hs is that you won't get much use out of your degree if you don't continue your schooling as a psych student. most people continue onto their masters, (as what i plan to do) even achieving their doctorates. either-way college is time consuming and can become a mental challenge due to what is expecting of you since you'll be an adult, certain professors can either make your time in college too heavy or easy. but please ask me more if you need any help, and enjoy your last year in hs🩷

Yes you're so right i' ve heard that theres not much you can do with a psych degree if you dont plan on getting a masters or phd, I also wanted to take a minor or two with it. I plan to become a child psychiatrist by the way, Thank you! Knowing me I will probably ask more questions as the year goes by but thank you again!
