I'm a Keralite..So not on either side. I've seen Basha and it's Kannada remake, Kotigobba as well. Must say, Rajinikanth's performance is on a different league to Vishnuvardhan's. The style and swagger of Rajini in Basha is unmatched. Further, I don't think comparing Vishnuvardhan and Rajinikanth is fair. While Vishnuvardhan is huge in Kannada, Rajini is a star pan India, respected by top to bottom of every film industry in the country. He is a living legend.

Its a remake movie and Vishnu dada cant do mass but Rajini can make mass scenes. Even I'm from Mysore but Rajini is far better than Vishnu in mass scenes. But he is very good at acting. Its a waste of time to praise a remake movie.

Firstly, RIP hindi film Hum 😂 Baasha was a remake of Amitabh Bacchan's Hum. Secondly, Rajinikanth showed just style. Vishnu sir showed dignity and acting too.. In the scene where the main character has to meet Commissioner, observe vishnu sir expression and rajinikanth expression. The character is meeting police but doesn't want to be doubted. Any sane person will go with a normal and a calm face. The angry face should come only when the flashback is shown or when some one knows he is the Don. But in rajini scene, when he walks in the room itself, he looks angry in his face during walk. There is nothing to be angry. It is wrong expression. That's why I said there's a difference between style and acting... Experience matters. Rajini wasn't even in films wen Vishnu sir was a Superstar. Rajini stood in queue to buy tickets for vishnu sir films. He himself has said it many times. So stop comparing the two.
