Well. I applied to 17 schools, and here's how it went. It was stressful at times, but also unforgettable and surreal. These are the schools:

A lot of the way you talk reminds me of myself. Please please please go easy on yourself. Getting into schools and even going to school is NOT a measure of your worth. You are on a JOURNEY and this is the means to an end. You have so much to look forward to. You DESERVE success and you are clearly smart and capable and hard working. Congrats on getting into all these schools! As someone who currently goes to the claremont colleges i personally would say if you were considering, pomona would be a fantastic choice! However UChi is equally fabulous too. But lets go liberal arts colleges!

@experience MAPH. My undergrad was Economics but I wanted a different grad degree (for fun). U of C is very academic (ie... Nerdy) - courses are discussion based and quite mind-bending. The downside for an undergrad is many classes are taught by graduate students rather than professional educators. If I were to do it again, I would have chosen a smaller undergrad university. Best wishes!

I was going to say "Sorry to hear about Yale" but your dad just tried to drag Yale so I'm glad they rejected you --- but on a more positive note, DUDE, UChicago is the perfect school for you. I can tell by your personality. Like the perfect school -- it is like the Universe saying -- "there you go." So go there, Chicago is super fun and the school is super academic -- you'll love it.

I applied through the Common Application and Cambridge and Oxford weren't on there, and as I was under a bit of stress at the time I didn't use the UCAS application to apply there! I do wish now that I had applied, looking back!

As someone who is a grad student and knows quite a bit about different universities, I am surprised how some universities in the US are considered top while no one knows about them outside of the US and some that are top-10 in the WORLD are just OK in the US. How on earth someone can even compare UChicago (#9 in the WORLD) to some unknown colleges such as Barnard or Pomona. The reactions in this video were almost like those two were better than Uchicago. Uchicago is ahead of schools such as Yale, Columbia and, Princeton, and in many fields even ahead of Harvard and MIT. It is #4 in the world for the number of Nobel prizes and you compare it to these small unknown colleges? I am confused.
