LMAO, I graduated college like 18 years ago, but you hit the nail on the head with most of my experience. The 1 year I lived in a dorm, my roommate dealt weed and our floors RA was one of his runners. Dude be getting free weed kick backs all the while knowing when a raid was going to happen and shielding his plug from prosecution. I also didn't graduate with a GPA cause we don't do that shit in Canada. My average was 85%. Sure, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Television and Communications. But I also minored in Cannabis Cultivation.

Thankfully I clocked with my roomie and her friends adopted me as a valued member but ask someone in class. This girl came up to me and asked for my number just to say she socialized, and we aren't friends but we can hang out without it being too awkward. Also, there is usually a plethora of events to go to, just to get out even if you don't plan on making a friend. Remember: it just starts with. "I need a friend, can I get your number? We can hang out." It's either a good yes or an embarrassing no. Yolo, Kid

The reason you probably didn't see band kids is because your institution doesn't actually have any music courses. At least that's the case at a few I know. Alternatively it's just because they're mostly taking music and humanities and you just don't have courses that overlap.

My dorm buddies were the best part of college. We were Comp Sci/IT majors so none of us ever got women, all we had were each other. We would cheat on tests together, sneak into classrooms with giant projectors after hours and stream movies, and most importantly, heist together. Payday 2 got me through those 4 years, and I managed to get everyone else as hooked as I was. College was a complete waste of time and didn't amount to me getting a great job (don't worry I eventually figured it out) but the boys were the reason why I didn't drop out midway through.

And the professors are so nice, and they actually work in art industry and understand what is going on. It’s not far away too, only 20 mins away from my house, and since it’s like art classes, I have like 10-25 people per class, not a lot of people 😎people should take community college more seriously, I did a art internship there and we made a children’s book, posters, flyers and more. I was there for 2 years, it was payed too 👌

My grades were ass, I felt like an office worker, I understood fuck all and I was just miserable. The only highlight, just like in HS, was the people. Be that fellow students or certain professors, the people I've met on Uni was the one highlight of the whole experience. After dropping out I started working at a gas station not far from where I live and honestly it ain't bad. It pays enough for me to live comfortably, even have some savings I've been investing into gov't bonds and stuff, and it's not a hard job. It's borring af but for most of the shift I can just sit on my ass and watch KZbin. And as an employee I get good discounts on gas so having to run premium doesn't hurt my budget as much.

I’ll gladly pick college over high school for one main reason: more sleep. My high school started at 8:20 but I lived pretty far from the school and the bus ride would be nearly half an hour, so I’d have to wake up as early as 5 or 5:30 if I wanted to shower and eat breakfast. Otherwise I just woke up at 6. In college, I have only one class that starts at 10, the rest start at 11. So not only can I stay up later, I can sleep in too and still get way more sleep than in high school. It’s so much more accommodating of my job where I work until 10pm, or 12am if I’m closing

Been out of college for a while and you hit the nail on the head for everything but I do take some exceptions with dorms. Meaning, I wish I was able to afford a dorm since the college I went to the dorms and living expenses cost almost as much as the semester’s tuition! I liked hanging out in the dorms even if it was for projects mostly. I went to a college in the city near where I grew up and drove or took the train to my classes. I knew if I had a dorm I would have taken more opportunities to stay in contact with friends I made or join them for parties on campus. What was really isolating was having to commute to my college every day since by the time my junior year hit I was so jaded that I only went to college for my classes then went straight home to my parents. At least there I could get decent food and change my cloths but I still couldn’t shake the FOMO (to use phrase we all still used back then) of not participating enough in my college life if I could just be there the whole time. Otherwise it felt too much like going home from grade school again.

if anything, this video goes over exactly why you gotta go to a university out of state, but that goes for any school after hs (such as trade school, and subject specific ones like music schools and business schools), that and if anything is different after hs, it's that you don't have to deal w/ any social hierarchy bs that you had to deal w/ in hs

Your animation is noticeably a lot more pleasing on the eyes. Nice stuff!
