In Blacksburg, VA, lived 13 year old Nicole Lovell with her mother. When she vanished from her bedroom one night, a search would lead to a Dr_Tombstone, also known as David Eisenhauer. David was worried he may have done something, his friend Natalie Keepers WANTED to do something.

To be fair, there is no evidence that she killed her, which is why she was not charged with murder. It's really weird how much people are trying to blame the actions of a p*do on a female he was friends with. Why not blame his mommy too?

I wonder if David would consider his 50 year prison sentence a ‘Milestone Goal’ or ‘ultimately it’s not where he wanted to end up’ while he was working at ‘bettering himself’. His message to the court after his sentencing was so hollow. There was not one bit of remorse for taking her young life. Not one bit for her family. Disgusting people. I feel for that poor mother. I just can’t conceive of the horror that child went through and how perpetrators don’t have any capacity for empathy.

It's hard to believe so many kids get bullied-- does anyone ever step in? I think bullies depend on the idea that it's not just them but everybody else too, who considers their victim as worthless or stupid. So if it could be interrupted constantly by a cool person-- like a teacher if there are any--- the bully would feel like he or she is alone. I know some asshole adults won't break in, if the bully has high status. Terrible.

I’ll never get over how this girl must have felt SOO EXCITED to see this cute older boy. He drove and told her she was pretty and all the other things a girl her age wants to hear. He showed her attention the way she saw other girls at school get attention. I’m sure she had butterflies and and was just floating on clouds-until she wasn’t. I hope she atleast went to grave feeling that feeling.
@Emma88178

It is despicable what happened to her. It is however, really odd that you speak as though you know exactly how their interaction went the night she died. Also odd you think all girls are the same or think the same (they don't). This part was also really odd "He showed her attention the way she saw other girls at school get attention". And how in the world do you know that? Did you go to her school and see how her social life was? No, so to speculate like that is very strange. Overall don't assume things when we don't know anything she was thinking or feeling.

@@SkinfaxiWhat?? Or maybe they just had experience with an older boy showing them attention when they were younger? I read their comment and completely understood what they were saying because the same sort of thing happened to me when I was 14 by a 19 year old guy. I thought I was special, I had the butterflies, etc etc and it didn't even occur to me how f'ing creepy that dude was until I was out of high school. And there's nothing weird about them capitalizing the words "so excited" - the person is just emphasizing the poor girl was probably really excited. Jesus - the weird jumping to conclusions here is disgusting. You're literally implying this person is a child predator because of a completely innocent comment. Both you and the person you're replying to have serious issues if you make any sort of habit out of trying to make someone feel weird and imply they're a god damn predator of all things because they understand how some young girls feel when they get attention from older boys and how dangerous that can be.

David lived across the hall from me at va tech when this happened. I had gone home for the weekend when I found out from my suitemates that he’d been arrested. I was surprised obviously, but I wasn’t exactly shocked that it was him. Since we live suite style, we left our doors open often on the hall so people would come and go to hang out. David came by a few times and I could tell that he always tried to appear confident and charismatic, but it just came off forced and awkward. He always gave me a creepy vibe. I also remember reading a release from police later down the line that he and his accomplice had met up and planned the attack at cook-out…and just before the murder, my friends and I actually saw him there with a girl. We don’t know for sure obviously if that’s the moment they had been planning, but I always get a chill down my spine looking back on it. Like if I had been nosey and eavesdropped…what would’ve been different??? Rest in peace sweet angel Nicole.

Kids will lie they are 18, you would need to institute using ID to set up all accounts, which has various implications, and can also be faked, stolen and bought online fraudulently, and the sale of it by criminals would skyrocket if this happened. FB isn't supposed to have anyone under 13 on it, and kids used to set the accounts up anyway. What is needed is under 18s not having access to smartphones - they need a very limited phone with applications that do not allow access to social media. As long as kids roam around freely with smartphones, a cohort of them will land themselves in trouble by trying to hook up online. Parents need to be way more vigilant too, understand the internet and police the content vigorously. Kik is vile, but kids are contacted by dodgy people, including other minors with ill intent, on all platforms. People also need to teach their kids that trying to hook up online as a minor is like waving raw meat at a hungry dog. All they will attract is bad people. They need to show kids all the ways they get exploited online. They need to be utterly explicit about the dangers and the gross shit that will happen to them if they send nudes to what they think is a same-age boyfriend online, or whoever, or all the gross rapes and murders that have happened.4
