Hi! :) I love this! You're so pretty and I'm so proud of you for putting up with your diabetes. I can relate to you with having a illness that you Can't get rid of, I have cerbal palsy and hydrocephalus. It's challenging some days because my disability effects a lot of my muscle strength and tone and my balance when I walk and it also effects the activities I do, I can't do certain things on my own because of my disability that I have. I just wanted to tell you to stay strong and I love your videos!! :)

Thank you for mentioning that about sleep. I don't care to count how many hours of sleep I've lost due to diabetes. And, yes, sleep is dangerous. I'll never forget the one time I slipped up, years ago now, and fell asleep early. I was feeling tired all the sudden so I thought I'd close my eyes for a second. Big mistake. I woke up, or came to, standing up, with my parents trying to get me to eat and drink orange juice. Scared the hell out of me. Now I always check my sugar a few times before I go to sleep (to establish a pattern so I can see where it's headed, since I don't have a cgm yet).

Yes, a lot of people don't realize how much sleep we lose! That is a really scary incident :(. You are smart to check your blood sugar multiple times to see if it's changing!

It's nice to know you can be diabetic and normal. I didn't take of my meds for like the first 7 years bc I was so afraid of what it meant; that I accepted the disease. Now that I'm over the horrible thinking my A1c went from 11.x to 8.6 to 8.1 to 7.3 to 7.0 and my goal is 5

I'm well beyond college age (and Type 2), but it's still nice to see the kinds of extra stuff that needs to be thought about when getting ready to go somewhere with T1 :) Great video as usual :)

@Michelle Lord I love your morning routine tip. I live how you use your kitchen table for make up. 😊 I am always looking for tips an ideas for lows. I get them often through the night and sometime periodically through out the day to. it's not entirely every day of the week but so far I can tell when it's going to happen. Do you ever have crazy cravings not only when you have moments maybe or at least I do of eating but after an hour I'll be hungry again or will want an odd craving like French fries or beans and rice and I'll get them just to feel the craving satisifacation then regret it later. have you had blue moon cravings what are yours or how to you takle them or find substatutes for them.I know diabetes can want to play with your mind but then you have to jump into mind over matter mode. I like your morning routine moves I love them all keep them coming. hope you have an awesome week ahead

Thanks so much! Yes, I do sometime get cravings for sweets, and often I will succumb to the craving haha. Otherwise, I will try to find something low carb to eat, like almonds :). It's hard to say "no" when you are craving something specific though :p

Hi!! I am also a T1D college freshman this year, so I am a little nervous about dealing with diabetes at college. I’m very sensitive to insulin, only taking 10 units a day.

I just take 1000mg Syngardy with metphormine when my blood sugar is to high. Do I have type 1 or type 2 diabetes?
@_Inferno_Fay
@_Inferno_Fay 2 ай бұрын
So what do you do if you take a diabetes pill when your blood sugar is perfect like 1000mg. Do you eat something sweet. My mom told me to do this cuz she's a nurse. Do I take a diabetes pill if my blood sugar is perfect?

Hey Michelle! How do you like the Dexcom on your inner arm? Are the readings accurate?
@MichelleLord
@MichelleLord 5 жыл бұрын
I find it to be super accurate! However, I had a friend try it there and it was not accurate for him at all. I think it really depends on the person.

Hi am also a type 1 diabetic patient how does dat pump work?is it useful?
@MichelleLord
@MichelleLord 6 жыл бұрын
The pump is great! I've had it for 10 years now. It works by giving a constant background, or "basal", insulin. Then whenever you eat, you give yourself a dose of insulin. You should read more about it :) www.medtronicdiabetes.ca/insulin-pump-technology
