Hello I stopped using the pump and came back to the pen... I gained to much weight on pump and I didn't like to feel it everday and finally the pen just take a few seconds, better than a pump 24/7...

Glad to see that you went to using TruSteel infusion set. It’s been a few years since I switched to Tandem T-Slim (which is when I last visited your channel) but I’ve used the TruSteel for over a couple of decades, even when on the Medtronic pump. It’s my preferred infusion set. For new users, I recommend inserting the needle portion with the tubing at the bottom (6:00 o’clock), that way, if the anchor/connector portion of the infusion set peels away, the needle portion is more likely to adhere to the skin (it’s physics) than if the tubing is at 3:00, 9:00 or 12:00 o’clock. For the same reason, make sure the tubing leading to the pump on the anchor/connector portion is also at 6:00 o’clock. Also, I have found that I can avoid hitting a nerve by testing the skin with the needle. Once you find a spot that you feel the prick of the needle less, that is a spot where the needle won’t cause you pain when you push it in. Removing the needle can be less painful if you pull it out quickly, particularly using the tubing. However, you can also avoid a painful removal by pulling up the edges of the adhesive tape all around the needle, then use the plastic wings to pull out the needle straight up. Hope these tips help somebody.

awesome video, one thing you forgot to mention insulin should not be put through the x-ray machine as it can alter the insulin. So it’s best just to get a visual inspection of your insulin at the very least.

I like the true steel as well. Also found using the verisoft 30 worked well; providing one is not afraid of inserting a long needle.

We have a similar background. I just turned 32, have been a t1d for 18 years and have been on a pump for 15 years, had Roche’s, Medtronic’s and then back to the beginning of 2019 I switched to T:slim. I have been having problems with the autosoft 90 too and the other day I had the chance to try the TruSteel too and despite being totally terrified by the fact there’s an actual needle inside of me, I am considering switching to it as I noticed my bg is way better and more stable with this. I then was looking for a video because nobody explained me how to remove that needle from my belly and it kinda hurt when I did although I tried my best to take it out without inclining it too much (if that makes any sense). I guess I’ll have to look for some remove wipes too in order to remove it without too much trouble😅

Hi!! Thank you for checking in, that is very kind of you... I posted an update a few months ago, but I realize that it didn't show up for everyone. www.youtube.com/@MichelleLord/community I am ok, just juggling life with 2 kids and trying to figure out how I would incorporate KZbin back in my life. I'm honestly not even sure how to start back up again after so long 😅. I do miss it though, and miss interacting with wonderful followers such as yourself <3 . Your comment made me realize that I should do an update video though, so thank you!

My last emergency Glucagon kit expired in December of 2020. I have since had it refilled and keep it in my refrigerator for safety reasons. I have had some pretty severe lows in my 13 years of being a diabetic but I've never actually passed out from a low. That being said, people should ALWAYS keep Glucagon in their homes (anyone with diabetes who takes insulin, tbh). You never know when you'll need it. And if you do have Glucagon, be sure to check the expiration date on occasion because they have an average shelf life of about one year.

I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 29 and I got pregnant shortly after finding out but now that my periods have returned I’ve experienced this for the past 3-4 cycles. I honestly thought I was going crazy until I found this video. My sugars run around 200-350 for the 3-5 day prior to my period starting and then the minute my period starts my sugars tank. I started today and my fasting sugar was 220 and I’m now battling a sugar of 67 at 9pm. I also have PCOS which I thought was to blame because it causes insulin resistance so my cycles are all over the place ranging from 47-55 day cycles.
