Julia congratulations on your LAST SEMESTER!! You’re killin it!!! I am reapplying to my program this summer - and I’m feeling nervous! I’m starting to have doubts on how I’ll get through especially the physics (and any math!)🤪 Also clinical working with so many different supervisors as my social anxiety can really flare up in situations where I’m being “supervised” so to speak. This semester is already so overwhelming 😩 We only have class on Tuesday’s and then clinicals Monday, Wednesday,Thursday, Friday so this video was perfect timing! I am going to try google calendars to help keep myself organized...especially with radiation physics

Love the videos! Wondering if you can make a video speaking on how clinical rotations were like, what exactly you got to do and all that good stuff. Im curious to what I should expect when I finally get into the clinical phase 😭.

I appreciate the idea, but unfortunately that video would be difficult to execute since every program is laid out a little differently. In regards to how we complete our competencies at clinical, we have a certain number of mandatory and elective exams that we have to "comp" out on. We have to perform a certain exam 3 times, and then the 4th time is our "final." Once we're signed off on our final, we're able to do the exam under indirect supervision. This is going to completely depend on your program's format! As for different experiences: we go into surgery, assist in fluoroscopy studies, go on portables, do exams in the department rooms, gain experience at orthopedic clinics, gain experience in the ER during traumas, etc. Your experience is going to entirely depend on what kind of clinical environment you're assigned to learn at! Hope that helps a little!

I'm in the same boat when it comes to bachelors vs associates! It would have cost me $50k+ and took me a year longer versus the associate's route which in the end.... it's the same job title and same pay no matter what.

Yes, it’s basically a job and it is titled an “internship” so that the job follows state guidelines - I’m essentially just a flex rad tech. I found this position because I had clinical through my school at this site and one of the technologists recommended that I apply! Otherwise, I don’t know how to find paid internships!

Depends on the site you're at! The bigger hospitals out of town have two students, one of the in town hospitals has 5 students, and some of the small clinics only have one student. I'm by myself at my current site!

I already have multiple videos and q&a’s about this on my channel. No, it’s not a certification. I will have an Associates in Applied Science degree (2-year program) and there are also bachelor’s degree programs (4-year). After you graduate, you have to take a state board exam and pass in order to actually work as a Radiologic Technologist.

No I transferred to a community college from a four year college. Pursuing this program for a bachelor’s degree would have taken me twice as long and 3x the money just to end up getting paid the exact same with either degree.

no, there's no need for it. I actually transferred to my community college from a four year university. once I pass my state boards, I will be a Registered Radiologic Technologist, so there's no need for any additional education
