When Three Mile Island starting melting, I lived close enough to be at risk for radioactive contamination. I remember the day well. I worked at a radio station. The news reporter being sent to cover the story was frantically asking us to give him our change so he could phone in the story. Someone quipped he hoped the reporter was wearing his lead-lined underwear. It helped break the tension in that moment of worrying for his safety. Recently I watched the documentary "Radioactive." If you think no one was affected by leaking radiation, guess again. If you think the NRA was open and forthcoming about the whole event, guess again. If you think it will never happen again, you're dreaming. Watch the movie, and stock up on lead-lined underwear.
