Hello I am graphic design student but at UTA. I did my basis in CC but since at UNT you had to have a 4-year program I would have to pay a lot just to go part-time w/ basics done, so UTA was my best option. So if you are in CC rn I recommend you to be in contact with your CC advisors as well as your potential university's advisors + self-research so that you don't end up taking classes you don't need, fall behind etc. I just transferred this semester and this video was actually very helpful. Y'all gave some good insights and advice that I haven't been told before!

So fun to see other communication design majors on KZbin too!!! I'm a communication design major too in Europe and I couldn't love my course any more than I already do. 🧸

As a junior in hs looking into graphic design as a future major but being kind of discouraged, this was really helpful to hear your experiences with the program. Great video! I'll probably have to reach out sometime in the future with questions:)

Omg that's awesome that you found out about it so early on. I didn't hear about a graphic design major until I was a freshman at community college! Its a competitive program but I guess a lot of them are. UNT definitely has one of the best communication design programs in Texas for sure I 10/10 recommend. But yes reach out to me on insta and we can chat : )

I talked to someone yesterday who is doing the review in November and omg the review is totally different now since its online. Since its so different from our experience I dont know how helpful the review tips were but I'm glad that this video relieved some stress : )

Wow, this is so helpful, I'm currently taking business courses at ACC and was planning on getting a degree in marketing but I've always had a love for art. This video really encouraged and motivated me to follow my dreams in art and change my major to communication design.

I’m not even in college yet I still have to go to community then I’ll transfer to unt but this video really helped me understand the program a little more. Im honestly really nervous to even try and take it because I just feel im not creative at all. From what I got from this video is that the program is highly competitive and people who make it are creative, unique, passionate, and confident. Im passionate that this is what I want to do but I fear I have like no creativity and if I do somewhere in me I don’t know if I’ll be able to compete against so many people who are better than me. On top of that I know nothing of graphic design I have no cool sketch book because I can’t draw nor paint…I like to create 3d avatars but that’s about it and it has nothing to do with graphic design which is what I really want to do. I know this video is really old but if you are still here do you think I should just do something else?

Rooting for you! I have friends who didn't make it once and some that didn't make it twice but that didn't stop them from doing it again. They're such great designers and I'm so glad that they didn't feel discouraged. Its difficult but you got this :)

@@claudiaalvarez6599 Awww, I'm so glad to hear that. It seems like a fantastic place. I would love to apply to the IxD program, perhaps in 2022/23 timeline! What's the department like?

The competiveness is what’s holding me back 😭 scared to not make it past reviews. And I haven’t done anything graphic design related since sophomore year so I need to brush up on my skills

Honestly the competitive environment is the most stressful part but you got this! I had zerooooo digital work in my portfolio my first review, the professors don't expect you to even know adobe programs really. They just want to see that you like experimenting and that you have an eye for design!
