This song has special meaning to me on many levels. I was living and working in New Orleans in 1980. My older brother back in Illinois was in the final stages of a rare leukemia. During what would be his last remission he came down to visit and wanted to hit Canal ST and have some fun. At one point we found ourselves in what we thought was a strip joint. After a few drinks the lights go down and Fat bottom girls starts blaring out of the house PA. Suddenly this enormous black "lady" comes out on stage and starts dancing and swinging around the pole. After while we realized she was really a he in drag. As we were leaving we noticed the sign over the door called "The most beautiful boys in the world".....ANyway they always say you remember where you were the 1st time you hear a new song and that is a fact:)

Yes. Yes. So much yes. I will be honest by saying I have never really been a fan of "Another One Bites The Dust" because it was so overplayed at every high school sports event I went to/played in but the version at that concert completely reformed me. That little strutt he does with the mic stand under his ass across the stage while looking at Roger gets me every damn time ❤❤❤ hands down, in my opinion, best live concert of them and the quality of the film is UNBELIEVEABLE!

Off the top of my head, two legendary live performances: Do You Feel Like We Do by Peter Frampton off Frampton Comes Alive. The second, Maggotbrain by Funkadelic off One Nation Under a Groove. Now Maggotbrain is not done by the original guitarist (Eddie Hazel) it's done by Michael Hampton, but it's easily my favorite live version of the song.

By far and away, hands down, no holds barred.....and even Queen admits it themselves (humbly enough)........THE best live performance I've ever witnessed was Queen's Live Aid performance in 1985 at Wembley Stadium, simul-cast all over the world. At least two stadiums on opposite sides of the Atlantic with over 100,000 attendees singing, clapping along in unison. Freddie and Queen were SO on their game in that ~20 minute set it's unbelievable. I've seen interviews with other acts who performed at that same concert and they were in universal agreement.......Queen blew EVERYone else off the stage; couldn't touch that performance. Best live performance EVER, IMHO. If you've seen "Bohemian Rhapsody", that movie did a spot-on re-enactment of most of their performance (left out "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "We Will Rock You", sadly).....but the music you heard was the real recording, including the crowd reactions. Stunning. I can't think of any other live performance that is even in the same neighborhood of that one. The stars aligned for Queen that day.

YOU GUYS CAN'T STOP AT JUST LIVE QUEEN!!!!!! THERE ARE SO MANY BRILLIANT SONGS THAT THEY NEVER DID LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! ok I'll stop yelling now, I know you said you'd still do a couple, but still! Don't listen to people who say to only watch live stuff. Yes Queen live is one of the 7 wonders of the world, but they revolutionized so much in the studio, they basically picked up where the Beatles left off in utilizing the studio as an instrument and you will miss soooooo much if you don't hear it as well. Extra sounds and harmonies that they don't/ physically can't do live. Do both, both is good!!!!

If you're wanting recommendations for live performances to watch, I'm going to push X Japan. They have some amazing live performances. They're Japanese in origin, so much of their earlier stuff has little to no English, but don't miss out just because of that. I say maybe start with "Kurenai" and "Endless Rain" from "The Last Live", then head back to something earlier, like "Weekend" from 1990 lol packed with energy even if it's not the best rendition they may have done... So many gems to discover...

I totally agree. There are so many hidden gems to be savoured. The reason you will not have heard them yet is because of the Poll voting system. It gave the result of :People with votes, say 60% were voting for the songs they had heard on the radio and the other 40% were the fans who had bought the albums and known the gems to point out to you but they would be out voted by the "Greatest Hits Album" listeners, as I call them. If my Dad, mother, sisters etc had voted, you would have had the results you got already. Whereas, my votes would have been very different, being a lifelong fan and not just someone who heard their stuff on the radio.

Hells Bells I agree there is plenty left to find! We aren’t stopping our Queen journey but we also want to be able to sit with the songs we listen to. It’s one of the good things about the time between a bands releases. You learn to sit with and grow deeper appreciation for each track on the last release while waiting for a new one... so good thing Queen has all of it available but we realized while talking that because of how fast we are going through it and so many different eras of Queen that we don’t think we are gaining that deeper fondness that we would like to sitting with a song or album for a while. All that said, we also aren’t stopping Queen just arnt making it a dedicated day ❤️

Another young American guy I follow on here (JB-L) has had so much sh*t thrown at him because he listens to and has found a love for Queen. He has had people saying he should not be listening to music made by a gay man and that would be putting it mildly, I'm guessing. Although he still does Queen now and then he has backed off to almost nothing. I've never seen people complain on your channel, except for the same fella ever week, whom I'm sure gets off on it haha We Queen fans are very loyal and I know a lot of us can't wait for a Wednesday because of you two. Interesting that this is not a live performance but is in actual fact a staged performance just for video. Brian and Roger have commented on the poor quality of the direction because it focuses so much on Freddie and hardly at all on John and Brian. They both revealed how little control the band members had on the videos themselves. Brilliant song, the album version is longer and better. Sorry that you're not doing so many Queen songs in future. My own suggestion if you want early Queen heavy stuff is Son and Daughter. Please review that one. Thanks, Antony

Just IMHO...I think Queen performances are never rated from 0 to 10. You begin at least at 10 and go up from there. You also add points if Freddie's costume relates directly to the song. Like wearing a royal cape and crown for Killer Queen.

So, I’m gonna throw two very different Queen performances at you cos I know you’ll enjoy them. Number 1 is Who Wants To Live Forever live at Wembley 1986 (preferably Saturday but doesn’t really matter), it’s one of Freddie’s most powerful and intense vocal showcases and it’s a must watch. Second, and one much more obscure, is Back Chat live at The Bowl 1985. Back Chat was one of their disco songs from the infamous Hot Space, and tbh I doubt you’d enjoy the studio version. But for this live performance they chuck in one of my favourite May guitar solos ever (no lie) and Freddie’s showmanship make it such a fun performance to watch. But of course, any Queen live show is a win!

Funny how millennials are slowly discovering what REAL music sounds like ;) Guys, face it, your generation is creating nothing but junk! Good thing your parents still have their old vinyl stored away somewhere, so you can finally learn what music sounded like, before music was merely a vehicle for becoming rich and famous. Guess what, there was a time, where musicians made music primarily because they had something to say. Fame was just a secondary thought. If painting was as mainstream as music is nowadays, kids would start painting, because it would be the proven way to become rich and famous.

I remember, way back in the days of yore, when I attended a church-run disco back in the late 70's, (yes, I'm that old), the DJ made the, 'mistake', of playing this song, to which one rather indignant Victorian misery of a grandmother, (not mine!), complained because it have the words, 'fat bottomed', in the title, and they in their self-righteousness deemed it to be vulgar in the extreme! Even as a kid, back then, I found that totally incredulous! I can laugh about it now, but back then, I couldn't believe someone could be so uptight over such an innocuous song title! The song itself is a fantastic example of what Queen were doing in the latter part of the 70's. They were already flying high with their previous, 'News of the World', album, so when, 'Jazz', came along, any single off it was almost guaranteed to do well. And they did! 'Bicycle Race', is the other one, which compliments this song and are, usually, played together, being part of a double A-side single. Another fantastic song from this album, which is unusual, is, 'Mustapha.' Give it a whirl! Edit: You already did that one! DOH! Try, 'Dreamer's Ball.'

Estimated 1.6 *MILLION* people at this concert, hosting Pantera, Metallica, AC/DC and others. This video shows them from above at the very end, you can see how many people there really were. A bunch of concert goers got beaten by the Russian police, because they didn't know how else to handle all these people, and the bands didn't know kids were getting beaten during the show. MUST SEE: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnqulqtvZ7Z1p5I (Metallica did a great live "Harvester of Sorrow" at the same show.) Deep Purple, Child in Time, live in 1970. @@alexfromandyandalex8032 I think there is a bit of dismay here as you've only really heard the tip of the iceberg from Queen. It also feels a bit like you've dismissed the 80's based on It's a Kind of Magic when there is so much greatness on their records in the 80's into the 90's. It's really sad for instance, that you won't be reviewing the extended official video of One Vision which many asked for as with the new criteria, that won't be an option. People, inc myself, are sad about the choice as we really enjoyed the regular Queen posts from you both. I appreciate though you can't please all of the people all of the time and it must be tough to keep an audience happy and manage their expectations but many gravitated towards you due to the Queen posts so those fans are part of your core viewership. Maybe you should have put it to the community vote to see what the audience wants? Queen Wednesdays or not? Still think you guys are great. Best wishes to you both. Annie from the UK

Annie Anonymous I absolutely understand your dismay but I think you might misunderstand. To begin with one vision extended video is still very much on our list to do as well as stone cold crazy and princes of the universe. Those are just the ones I know andy and I have talked about recently. There is absolutely nothing baring is or stopping us from listening to Queen, just because it’s not a staple every Wednesday doesn’t mean we won’t listen to more. For example there are Queen songs I’ve heard that Andy hasn’t that will end up showing up on a Monday, and fridays could still have those same songs come up. As for my distaste for the 80’s lol that’s just my own personal music taste, Queen has very little to do with it haha. As a musician/songwriter/singer ive never been a huge fan of the production style of the 80s that doesn’t mean il dismiss any song from that era it’s just part of my musical preference. It is tough trying to make a fan base happy but we have an amazing community and ultimately we want to make sure we are bringing you new music just like you bring us. Besides what I said earlier about wanting to be able to sit with a song for a bit before flooding ourselves and overlooking gems you guys show us, we also want to make sure we take you guys on a musical journey too. For example when I shared the Styx song with Andy I saw sooo many comments about “wow I’ve never heard them this is amazing I need to hear more”. So just like you’ve shown us amazing Queen (and will continue to) we want to make sure we are helping our community be exposed to music maybe they overlooked as well. We all have tastes and personal affinities. We love our Queen fan base and honestly love Queen. I used to practice singing along to fat bottomed girls when I was learning to sing. So they’ve always held a spot for me. We are also just college students trying our best haha. We are in home stretch of our finals and are likely making some additions to the channel for better quality and content. So bottom line know we hear you all and our only goal is to give you the best honest reviews and quality videos we can. We love the support of you all. Please always feel free to voice how you feel about channel changes and know that nothing is permanent except for change itself haha this was a super long reply sorry for being long winded but you left a large comment and I wanted to make sure it was addressed as well as possible ❤️
