And I'd identify the same solutions: 1. Return to the Lord, who led you out of Egypt. 2. Find leaders who seek the Lord. 3. Community awareness via the collective aspects of commemoration, whether collective church worship or secular events. I don't know if you participated in any Common Ridings during your visit to Scotland? But that's the reason why it's such bad manners to stand in front of children or prevent them from seeing and hearing the Common Riding by talking loudly over it. It's part of THEIR inheritance, to learn the traditions of their ancestors and accumulated wisdom of their community. The 'acting it out' aspect is very effective, as Passover or the Festival of Shelters are in a biblical context. As I know you understand from your reenactment experiences. The way to learn it, is to do it and experience it. Don't be too dismayed if folk focus more on the shame than the glory. Scotland tends to commemorate Flodden (where we were defeated) more actively than Bannockburn (which we won). Because in many ways our current status as a nation, is under occupation rather than independent. The focus on shame may be an expression of some unresolved regret that needs acknowledged? Perhaps an instinctive collective search for the forgiveness we receive in Christ?

The Progressives that run our school systems and Universities work hard to make sure we forget our brilliant history. Glad you are pointing this out and sharing the importance of keep our history alive. Otherwise the demons who want to destroy us will succeed. I, for one, work every day to thwart them! Thanks JLH

Totally true. People have absolutely no knowledge of history. They do not know what has been, or what will be. I would love to see you discuss how we are actually enslaved to Rome by the 1666 cest que vie trust and so forth. The 1844 prophecies from Daniel and revelation ! Wonderful job.
