Shooting my first volleyball match Thursday! The thing i'm least looking forward to... the terrible lighting

Lighting is tough but I think the hardest part is getting the peak action on the quick plays! Have fun!

Great photos...really thinking a 300 f2.8 is my next goal lens

Thank you and I highly suggest it. Works great for most occasions!

Would be helpful I’m sure for a lot of folks, if it’s not to much extra work, to list some camera settings for the shots (or even a verbal mention related to settings) etc you throw up on the screen with your videos. Good stuff, yes VB is back & I agree it’s a challenging sport to capture well - cheers

Yeah, simply laziness on my side. For the gym, I am at 6400iso, shutter at 1/800-1/1000 depending where I’m standing and always at f2.8 if I’m using the 300mm or 70-200

I know you’ve said before but is your 300 2.8 the non is version? Also how fast is the auto focus on the big 300? I use an ef135 and ef 200 prime on my R6 and they are adequate but definitely don’t focus as fast as my rf lens. Thanks again enjoy your videos.

Also the shot of the two of them through net blocking ball was 🔥

Yes, it's the non-is version. The AF is very fast adapted to the R6. Never has it been an issue for me. I have used the RF 300mm and rf 400mm and the speed is different but in all of my sports photography, I am not missing shots because of my AF speed. Thanks for watching and thank you, the 2 player blocking shot is one of my favorites as well!
