It is cool that you are studying functions and relations in your third year of college and we learned that in high school. Funny how the education system works there. Also, your editing style is really nice and high-quality. Keep up the good work

I do not get why "omg upperclassmen are ancient" is such a reoccurring sentiment. I never thought that as a freshman; is it just a matter of having perspective at that point? How much experience you already have vs more naive freshman who've kind of been sheltered? It's so weird to me
@mensahnicole2 ай бұрын
it’s a very common feeling, just because you haven’t experienced it doesn’t mean it’s completely unreasonable. in first year, you’re typically a teenager, by third year, you’re in your 20s. it’s a big jump and to the avg teen, it seems “old”. i’d have to say it’s def perspective that allows you to realize being in your early 20s is def NOT old lmaooo most of us are naive at age 18, and probably still are at 21+. there’s still so much to learn not just in school but about the evolving world around you!!! we never stop learning, and we never have to start feeling old 🥹
@MariaSantos-uo3pb2 ай бұрын
@@mensahnicole agree with sentiment towards the end of course, but you’re also claiming the same thing as me- that x perspective is common whereas the other isn’t. I’ve only met a few people to echo what was said in the video, and they’ve always been extremely preoccupied with age. What I’m saying is that past a certain degree, this is less of a rite of passage and more of a prevailing insecurity (which I can expand on! I do think social media’s ability to emphasize the most spectacular person at a certain age changes our perception of societal benchmarks, as well as the fact that we begin to limit the scope of “true livability” to younger and younger ages- ie, past a certain age is irrelevance). TL;DR this seems to be appearing on social media with increasing exaggeration which yeah, may lead to some concern lol. Beyond that though, I agree that being “old” is a trivial state that doesn’t apply if you’re always willing to learn and explore more about life! It’s just that this comment was never aiming to discuss it as a more abstract concept
