yo honestly don't worry too much about feeling like you're missing out by not partying or going out all the time if that was never your thing before. it's true that it can be super crushing feeling like you have nothing or no one to look forward to, but having even one person in your life that you can see on the regular can really make that feeling turn around. I know it's the fuckin cliché thing to say, but if there are any clubs or other student organizations you can join, that shit really helps. I was part of the pokemon club when I was in university and lemme tell you what, dumb as it sounds, having that one thing to look forward to made everything else so much more bearable. the burden's a lot less heavy when you're not the only one carrying it. 💙

yeahh first yr of uni was basically a lot of loneliness and confusion while i was still adapting to everything - but once you have a bit more of a grip on what to do, who your friends are and what your hobbies are, it gets easier and i feel a lot more content and in control now. and yes, clinging to good grades WILL help you through it lmao, you're doing great 👍

Don't worry. The first year of college can be a hard one but it gets better. Especially if you keep putting yourself out there and doing sociable things like joining clubs (in UK universities they're called societies or SOCs for short). Which is something I highly recommend! Lots of people struggle in the beginning. Also, being away from your family at New Year is not easy. So don't be hard on yourself and keep trying because it will definitely get better!
