I got this friend request a while back from some guy I didn't recognize, I looked through his profile and everything, finding that while we had a number of common interests, we lacked mutual friends or background. I accepted the request, and he started a chat with me where we chatted for half an hour or so about how things are, future plans, etc. It wasn't until a week after the event that it finally clicked that this guy wasn't just some guy I'd known 10 years back. This was a close friend of mine from 10 years back that I'd met at the cram school I'd been going to (which facebook doesn't automatically ask you about), before drifting apart. Plus a beard. The beard had thrown me off. And I was a shitty person, as well.

This sorta happened to me when I got a friend request from this girl I barely knew in High School. All of like two sentences worth of conversation was exchanged (didn't help that I was painfully shy as a teenager) Her photo, of course was with a friend (as a lot of girls tend to do) and blurry.
