As a professional vertebrate paleontologist who studies dinosaurs, I appreciate that Brennan not ONLY knew that birds are dinosaurs, but had the presence of mind to ALSO say that not all dinosaurs are birds, indicating that he has at least some rudimentary understanding of phylogenetics. Also, pterodactyls aren’t dinosaurs, they are pterosaurs, which share a common ancestor with dinosaurs but are not themselves dinosaurs. Dinosaurs and pterosaurs together make up a group known as Avemetatarsalia (“bird metatarsals”). A common misconception!
