It's a running joke where the fans "carries over" and tries to connect all the videos together such as Hardly Working to Jake and Amir to Full Benefits even though their videos should be stand-alone and each belong to their own "universe". In this case FB-Sarah and FB-David are seeing each other in that series, but here if we take this HW-David and HW-Sarah and imagine them to be the same characters as the ones there, is what makes it funny. They were going to go out for lunch together but Dan managed to end the connect 4. Also his name wasn't David back then. It was something like "Narhh-narhh-narhhhhh!"
